More proof that life is unfair - Blake Lively gets my dream job with Chanel!

I wish I could hate Blake Lively because girlfriend just got my absolute dream job - Chanel has appointed her "official ambassador" of the label's new Mademoiselle handbag.

Lively said she grew up admiring Chanel and what it represents to her: “It is timeless, chic, graceful, intelligent, iconic and ever relevant. Though I am the face of it, I will carry it like every girl,” Lively said of the bag. “I will always feel it’s more than just a purse. It’s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful ‘CC.’ ”

How can you hate someone who obviously loves Chanel so much (just not as much as me)!

Dior, je t'adore!

This fall ad campaign with Karlie Kloss (shot by Steven Meisel) is really pretty. I love the shoes, although these boots were not made for walking in Canada... I wish there were more pictures but that's all we've got for now. In the meantime, I don't get the Dior Homme ad campaign (shot by Karl Lagerfeld, this time) - actually I hate it... and the model is nothing special to look at.
Anyway, why "Dior je t'adore"? Because I found some awesome Dior shoes online which I will show you tomorrow....

Chanel Takes You to An Opulent Far East for Fall 2010

It was definitely my favorite collection this year: Chanel will seduce you too with this beautiful pre-fall 2010 campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld. And look at that, you can even dress your man in Chanel! With a bit of luck he will look as pretty as Baptiste Giabiconi... well unless he threatens to walk out on you as you try to dress him with this olive jacket!

Karl Lagerfeld and Eres Bring You an Interactive Peep-show!

Karl Lagerfeld and the French swimwear company Eres have collaborated on a fun summer campaign: these Parisian pin-ups wear adorable Chanel dresses but as soon as you load the website: taa daaa, you've got your own private peep-show too! Your mouse helps you undress the models and reveal the usually fantastic Eres swimsuits. There is an obvious advantage here: you don't have to spend all your 20's like Lisamarie on a Friday night, so you can keep your money and buy those clothes instead .  My only regret? There should be more swimsuits to look at and there should be male models to undress! But I hope this concept takes off!

The Art of Shoplifting: Karl Lagerfeld Knows Best

This short film "Vol de Jour" by Karl Lagerfeld shows two models: the beautiful Lara Stone and the handsome Baptiste Giabiconi, basically shoplifting Chanel clothes for 3 minutes. I'm not sure what the message of this film is supposed to be but watching Baptiste checking himself out in the mirror, Zoolander style, is priceless. For the rest, even without dialogue, it's badly acted and badly filmed....but you know what? I LIVE FOR BAD MOVIES! I've watched every Jessica Simpson's movie, the craptastic "Gigli" with JLO and Ben Affleck and even the incredibly stupid "Glitter" with Mariah "wooden face" Carey. So, trust me, I know stale acting when I see it! At least it's a commercial and not a Hollywood production!

Warning: you will not get these 3 minutes of your life back. No refund, sorry.

Lagerfeld Presents The Paris-Shanghai Collection - Still Talented, Still Crazy

There was no sign of a bejeweled helmet this time, although this latest Chanel pre-fall Paris-Shanghai collection did include a few hats, Chinese style. Karl Lagerfeld opened the show with a yellow face as "an homage to Europeans trying to look Chinese in old movies". Ugh. I liked this collection but my god, Uncle Karl is crazy.

I'm desperately in love with this coat...and I accept donations for Xmas.

Oh Hellooo, how are you doing?

Weekend Goodies: Magazines around The World

The sublime Marija Vujovic for Vogue UK November
Trends: Shoulder pads, studded belts, asymmetrical dresses

Honestly, I just needed an excuse to post these pictures, Marija looks incredible. And that's why I want to see more models on the covers of magazines and less actresses and singers, please (except if your name is Cate Blanchett).

Numero magazine in Japan (Anne-Sophie Monrad)
Trends: Lace, shoulder pads, over-the-knee boots and Louis Vuitton bunny ears

The annoying Lilly Allen photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for Elle Russia
I have to admit, Lilly looks good here with tousled hair, red lipstick and lots of Photoshop.

Cate Blanchett is on the cover of Vogue US for the December edition, looking incredible as usual.
She should get an Oscar every year, just because she's Cate Blanchett. In fact, the Oscars should be renamed the Cate Blanchett Awards.

How to Get Mugged? Karl Lagerfeld Knows Best.

You may have noticed this Karl Lagerfeld Couture helmet for Fall 09 during the Paris Fashion Week in March: so rejoice! This gem-incrusted, Tweed-padded protection goes for sale today and can now be yours for only $6800.

If Karl Lagerfeld's goal was to keep you safe, well I'm afraid he has failed here (and I say this respectfully, god, I'm kinda scared of him). This helmet might protect you from a little traffic accident, but not from a nasty mugger. Wear it, and you'll be broadcasting to the world that you have more money than sense. Karl should know that, he lives in Paris for god's sake. A city, where people get out of their car and get into fist fights because you were driving too slow (a true story) or even because you look at them in a funny way (again, a true story).  Jealous fashionistas and nasty pigeons (they often behave the same way) will pick on you, attracted by the sparkly gems. Nobody will leave you alone.  No, really this helmet will not keep you safe. You might as well save yourself the trouble...and $6800!

Karl Lagerfeld featured here in a road safety campaign in France: "It's yellow, it's ugly, it doesn't go with anything, but it can save your life." French drivers are now obligated by law to carry this yellow safety jacket and Stop sign in their car at all times. Looks like Uncle Karl is really concerned about your safety!
