Lalique Hommage à l’homme - 50ml EDT - $95, 100ml EDT - $128 - imbued with confident masculinity with top notes of violet leaf, bergamote and saffron; heart notes of chili leaf, violet and black pepper and base notes of cistus, oud and musk.

The scent is elegant and sensual and I'm particularly taken with the bottle - I love the clean, masculine lines - there is definitely nothing girly looking or smelling about this one!

Fragrant Friday - Lalique Edition Spéciale

Lalique - the fragrance brand with bottles as beautiful as the scent inside them is celebrating it's twenty year anniversary with a special edition of their legendary fragrance -  

Lalique Edition Spéciale - 100ml EDT - $135 -  a timeless floral with top notes of rose essence, iris, clove flower and jasmine; heart notes of blackcurrant leaves, pear and blackberry and base notes of sandalwood mysore, vanilla and white musks - knowing how much I don't like floral fragrances you would think I wouldn't care for it at all but this is one of the few florals that I really love!

And what kind of anniversary would it be without a present - for you that is! Each bottle comes with a jasmine flower pendant - most of them will be galvanically gold plated but a lucky 1 in 20 will be adorned with the same charm but made in amber-coloured Lalique crysal!

So here's my plan - we need a jeweler-grade scale which we will take down to Holt Renfrew and demand to weigh all of the fragrance boxes - if 1 in 20 of them is the special charm that means that most of them will weigh the same and a few of them will have to be minutely different! I suggested this idea to my husband and he looked at me like I'm nuts but I know my beauty obsessed brethren will understand and be with me on this! And I'm sure the nice, friendly fragrance ladies at HR will be happy to oblige us... okay, maybe not - I'm open to ideas!
