Moisturize your lips with fun products from Softlips, Maybelline and Mary Kay!

Softlips Cube - $4.99 - in Berry Bliss and Vanilla Bean - with lip perfecting technology that delivers 5 lip loving benefits: hydrates - with shea butter to restore moisture; replenishes - with vitamins A, C & E; smoothes - with rich emollients to leave lips silky and soft; protects - with long lasting moisture; and adds shine - for a perfect, radiant finish.

It was only a matter time before someone knocked off the eos balm design - only in a cube instead of round case. There are a few small differences between the two:  the eos formula is all natural, Softlips isn't; there is a lot more choice in flavours with eos; and the Softlips balm adds a bit of a shine so glides on a lot easier then eos does due to it.

Available at major drug, mass and grocery retailers across Canada.
Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal - $4.99 - in 6 shimmery shades: Twinkling Taupe, Mirrored Mauve, Pink Quartz, Crystal Kiss, Gleaming Coral and Beam Of Blush - of reflective colours that are infused with pearls and micro crystal particles for smooth, soft lips with a healthy, natural glow and a hint of colour.

Available now at drug and mass retailers across Canada.
Mary Kay Little Gifts Lip Balm Set - $20 - limited edition set of 3 balms includes Vanilla Berry, Vanilla Mint and Vanilla - with the same great formula as the Satin Lips Balm - perfect for dry, thirsty lips!

Soft and Kissable Lips with L'Oreal, Softlips and Thann!

I made the mistake of using a lip balm under the L'Oreal Infaillible Le Rouge Lipcolour the first time I put it on as I thought a long lasting lipstick would make my lips dry. However,  I was pleasantly surprised: this lipstick is quite smooth, long lasting (I can wear it an entire afternoon without touch ups, which is a super long time for me!). Another positive: the pigments are strong enough to really show on my lips. For all the black ladies out there, you know what I'm talking about: many affordable products do not show on our complexion., this one does (I used shade 45).

Probably my favorite lipbalm right now: this Softlips balm is minty, the tube is long and slim and fits everywhere and most of all it has an SPF20 protection, so you can use it all year long!
This lipbalm from Thann moisturizes thanks to rice extract and Aloe, it also contains shea butter for sun protection. While the previous lip balm was flavored, this one is paraben free and fragrance free, so it's ideal if you've got sensitive skin, plus it's not sticky at all!

Moisturize your lips this winter with lip balms from the drugstore! Softlips, Burt's Bees, Lise Watier, Smashbox, La Roche-Posay, Biotherm and Clarins

Softlips Nourish - 3.5g - $6.49 - contains lipidure - a powerful hydrating ingredient which retains water within the epidermis and prevents evaporating minimizing moisture loss.  This unique formula actually rebuilds the barrier on the outer epidermis layer of your lips, repairing dry damaged tissue and strengthening the defense against environmental elements.- in three flavours: cool peppermint, bergamot (my fave) and fresh lavender.
Softlips Nourish Maxilip - 3.8g - $6.49 - a double-layered balm enriched with powerful anti-aging properties, ceramide and coenzyme Q10, to lock in moisture and help reduce the look of fine lines.

You can visit www.softlips.ca for complete product line information as well as their brand new Canadian Facebook Fan page!

Burt's Bees Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter - 4.25g - $4.49 - contains mango butter - packed with beneficial antioxidants, nourishes and moisturizes lips to reveal smooth, healthy lips

Burt's Bees Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Acai Berry - 4.25g - $4.49 - contains acai berry oil - rich in antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids

Both balms contain sunflower seed oil - naturally high in vitamins A and D, lecithin, and the essential fatty acid Omega 9, coconut oil - light, non-greasy and exceptionally emollient and castor seed oil - rich in fatty acids, it attracts moisture to the skin.

They both contain 100% natural ingredients, natural flavours and sweeteners and are free of petrochemicals, parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate and of course are never tested on animals.

Lise Watier Sensational Kiss Lips So Soft Exfoliating Balm - $20 - sponge tip click pen enriched with shea butter, panthenol and Vitamin E.  Gently exfoliates thanks to the fine sugar crystals that then just melt (and taste delicious)!
Smashbox Lip Treatment SPF 15 - $21 - contains honey, shea butter, jojoba and avocado oils to nourish and chamomile and aloe to soothe.  It has very little smell so if that is something you are sensitive to, this is a great choice.

La Roche-Posay Ceralip - 15ml - $14 - a lip repair cream for severely dry skin that is fragrance and preservative free.  The cream comes in a squeeze tube and is very thick and moisturizing. Dermatologists love this line and it's really great for those with sensitive skin.

Biotherm Aquasource Moisturizing Balm SPF 8 - 15ml - $20 - this balm has a shiny effect if you like a glossy look and contains oil of macadamia to soften and moisturize.  It has a subtle pleasant scent and a light texture.

Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm - 15ml - $27 - with essential rose wax.  It has a thick texture, gives a light shine and has the best smell!
