If you're going to test out products for their colour retention abilities, I have the perfect shade for it - red - normally after fresh colour I can see it start to fade in about a week and also become really dull. It's been about 3 weeks and I won't say there hasn't been any colour fade with this line but to be fair, red is a really hard colour to retain - what I have noticed is how shiny my hair has stayed, making the colour look richer which really makes the fading less noticeable!

Looking for an edgy and fashionable look for summer straight off the runway? It's sleek, it's shiny, it's sexy, it's wet! L'Oréal Professionnel introduces a couple of products that make it easy to get the wet look  with a flexible hold that won't look greasy, become flaky or feel crunchy!

Wet Domination Shower Shine - 100ml - $25.50 - a long-lasting lacquer shine spray with an alcohol-free formula and no residue. Great for everything from adding high shine to hair to creating a grunge look

Wet Domination Extreme Splash - 250ml - $25.50 - a flexible hold gelee for an ultra wet look shine with a non-greasy result that also offers heat and anti-frizz protection. Perfect for creating a slicked and sleek style to achieving a "just went swimming" look.

A wet look didn't sound like something that would be an everyday kind of thing, that is until I saw the beautiful wet look above that was created by Daniel Fiorio of Salon Daniel in Toronto (colour is by Crystal Brown  of Ricci Hair co. Salon). Daniel explained to me that the key to it being a wearable look was to just use the product in the top part of the hair and not the lengths - the top looks polished and the ends are natural - so you don't look like you forgot to dry your hair after a shower - just very sleek and sexy!

I've found all of them great for my fine hair: the Nexxus and Herbal Essences sprays are nice because they are very light and don't weigh fine hair down. My caution though is to use sparingly, too much and you get a greasy instead of shiny look; The Live Clean cream doesn't add as much shine but it does add some nice texture - also great with fine hair - I like to use it on dry hair after styling as it has a smoothing benefit to help get rid of those flyaways!
