Avon gets Jon Bon Jovi "Unplugged" which isn't quite as good as "Undressed" but it will do for a start...!

I sure do loves me some Jon Bon Jovi and soon I'll have a chance to love him even more (if that's possible) it's just been announced that that he's the face of Avon's upcoming “Unplugged” fragrances for him and for her, two new scents that exude passion, soulfulness and intensity.

Apparently Jon is impressed with Avon's charitable efforts - 
“Avon, and the Avon Foundation for Women, have given support and a voice to those in need for decades,” says Jon Bon Jovi. “Their philosophy of empowerment sends a strong message and I’m pleased to partner with them.” 

Jon's no slouch in that department himself, he is also Chairman of The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. Since 2006, the Foundation has addressed issues that force families and individuals into economic despair and has built 330 units of affordable housing. The Foundation expanded in October 2011 with the opening of the JBJ Soul Kitchen, which serves nutritious, culinary dishes in a restaurant atmosphere to diners who contribute either volunteer hours or a minimum donation for their meals. The Soul Kitchen is housed in a renovated 1,100 square foot former auto-body shop in Red Bank, NJ.

Unplugged for Her is a floral oriental fragrance available in October 2012, and Unplugged for Him is a woody floral musk scent available in November 2012. Both will be sold exclusively through Avon Representatives in Canada.

I have to say though, I'm a little annoyed that Avon didn't ask me to help with the photo shoot... next time, right?!

This week I'm obsessed with... Revlon ColorSilk!

As anyone who is an assisted redhead can attest to, it's the hardest colour to actually keep in your hair - it fades so fast! The other issue I've been having is finding that perfect shade of red, they come in a limited range of shades and the one I have been using is the perfect shade of red once it's faded out for several weeks. This of course means it is the perfect shade once I have roots and for the weeks leading up to that it is a little too dark for my taste. I think I've hit the jackpot though and found my perfect colour that will be there day 1!

Of course seeing is believing so have a gander at my results with 42 Medium Auburn:

Before - the colour itself is pretty, the dark roots, not so much - the roots are also making the colour at the back look darker than it is!

After - I think even when this fades a bit it will be a coppery blonde which will still be pretty so I'm crossing my fingers that my holy grail of colour has finally been found!

I just can't help but be fascinated by bronzers - is that a common thing for pale people? I don't know - but I do know that I am always looking for the perfect product to make me look like I'm among the living - here's a few that I am liking lately:

Mascara Monday - L'Oréal Voluminous Power 24H Mascara

L'Oréal Voluminous Power 24H Mascara - $11.99 - contains a new formula with collagen spheres and a mega brush that gives lashes 15X more impact and 24 hours of volume for fuller-looking plumped up lases that won't flake, smudge or clump.

Nice length and volume and it didn't clump when I applied multiple coats.

I'm a big fan of the original Voluminous formula and other than the brush being much bigger on this one, I don't know that I can tell the difference between them.

I have no idea why I would ever need a mascara that can last 24 hours, I can barely stay awake past 10pm but it's nice to know that should I ever become a vampire, I'm covered!
