Philosophy Total Matteness helps you face the world shining on the inside instead of the outside!

For some people oil production and pore size are genetically and hormonally determined - for me it's a seasonal thing, as soon as the weather gets good, my skin turns into a giant oil slick! You can't control your genes or the weather (if I could would I ever be rich!) but thankfully you can use products to help control and improve these issues such as the new:

Philosophy Total Matteness line - with multitasking solutions that help keep pores purified and refined, while balancing oil and reducing surface shine by targeting the three causes of problematic pores: managing overproduction of oil and minimizing shine; strengthening the pore wall, leaving pores tighter and minimizing their appearance; and removing the accumulation of oxidized oil that causes them to appear dark.

Total Matteness Pore-Minimizing & Mattifying Cleanser + Mask - 150ml - $29 - a foaming cleanser that deeply cleanses, absorbs oil and minimizes shine for a totally matte, smooth-touch finish thanks to glacial clay which helps unclog enlarged, dark pores to reduce their appearance. It also doubles as a weekly purifying mask for enhanced results.

Total Matteness Oil-Free, Mattifying Pore Refiner - 250ml - $29 - with lentil seed extract to help strengthen the pore wall and keep pores clear, minimizing their appearance with a smooth-touch finish that leaves skin feeling comfortably balanced, lightly hydrated and refreshed.

Total Matteness Oil-Free, Mattifying Pore Eraser - 30ml - $42 - with natural bamboo extract that immediately helps absorb excess oil and control shine; lentil seed extract to help strengthen the pore wall, making pores tighter and less apparent; and salicylic acid to help remove build-up of dead skin cells around the pore wall, lightening its darkened appearance.

I have replaced my Philosophy Miracle Worker Cleanser with the Matteness one and I must say not only does it leave my skin feeling nice and clean, I love the foam, Miracle Worker did not lather enough!

My fave product from the line is the Pore Refiner - I'm not generally a big fan of toners because I find they leave my skin feeling tight and dry but this one does exactly the opposite and leaves my skin soft and perfectly balanced!

Available now at Sephora and select The Bay and Shoppers Drug Mart stores.

  1. Eyeing the pore-eraser! It'll be too costly if I get all three -__-

  2. I think I'll be trying this. My face isn't as oily as it was when I was in my teens but these products would be great to use on my t-zone or during the summer. Thanks for the heads up.
