Eczema help is at hand (as well as the rest of you) with A-Derma, RoC and Aveeno!

October is National Eczema Awareness Month, so what better time for some tips and products to help soothe those dry, itchy patches of skin that are so itchy and embarrassing!

Much as we love a hot shower, it is better to take warm baths instead as they are less drying. Using a very gentle cleanser that maintains the skin’s barrier is important - and here's a great one that you can also use as a bubble bath in your warm bath since it foams:

A-Derma Exomega Emollient Foaming Gel - 500ml - $26 - a cleansing gel for the face and body with Rhealba Oat Plantlets that gently cleanses, soothes and protects atopic and very dry skin. Can be used on babies, children and adults.

After bathing, pat the skin dry, don't rub with a towel and apply a highly nourishing and moisturizing product - ingredients to look for include shea butter and glycerin - and get it on right away while skin is still damp to lock in moisture. A great choice that meets this criteria is:

I get eczema which flares up mostly on my hands, a common place for people to suffer from it due to frequent hand washing and exposure to chemicals - which makes moisturizing the hands regularly especially important as it will help to replenish the skin's natural moisture barrier which can help keep eczema under control. Which is why I love:

This week I'm obsessed with... The Body Shop Body Sorbet!

As we move into warmer weather (finally) I am on the hunt for a lighter body lotion and have found one that will be great for hot and thirsty skin:

Fragrant Friday - L'Occitane Cherry Princess

Just in time for Valentine's Day, L'Occitane has a new limited edition fragrance that combines the juicy scents of cherries with a delicate floral softness - L'Occitane Cherry Princess - my uneducated sniffer discerns more floral than fruity in this fragrance, but there is a fruity bite to it which enough to make my fruity loving self a fan!
