Products worth stealing from the boy from Jack Black, BIC and Nivea!

If you're tired of the man in your life filching your beauty products it's time to get your own back and start swiping his - here are a few worth the risk:

Jack Black Beard Lube Conditioning Shave - 177ml - $18.50 - a super multi-tasker that is a pre-shave oil, shave cream, and skin conditioner all in one. Natural jojoba and eucalyptus oils penetrate whiskers, making them easier to cut, and helps to reduce razor burn. The fragrance-free, transparent, lightweight lotion lets you see every whisker you're shaving off, resulting in fewer nicks and cuts. Silicon technology allows for better glide and eliminates razor clogging, providing an extremely close shave that leaves skin incredibly soft.

I'm not a big fan of traditional shaving creams and gels because I find it really hard to see the hairs - I had resorted to shaving with baby oil until I found this one. It's transparent but offers way better glide then baby oil and is much easier to remove from both your legs and the razor!

BIC Flex 4 Disposable Razors - 3 pack - $7.99 - with four independent spring-mounted blades for an ultra-soft shave with a lubricating strip with aloe and vitamin E for a smooth glide.

Aside from coming in much prettier colours, I find no other upside to women's razors over men's - they are no more effective and can even cost more! Know how you can get them free? Steal the boyfriend/husband's of course! The springy blades on these are great for getting around knees and ankles without nicking!

Nivea for Men Pure Impact Shower Gel - 500ml - $5.99 - a deep cleansing shower gel for body, face and hair (I am only recommending this for the body ladies) which contains extra fine scrub particles which deeply cleanse the skin as well as Hydra IQ technology that leaves skin feeling hydrated for a purifying and moisturizing shower experience.

Not a fan of the floral or fruity scents that feminine shower gels come in? Then grab your guys! This one is great it reminds me of CK One - or something along those lines of unisex!

Old school hair removal with a modern twist from Venus & Olay, Bic and eos!

With so many hair removal options out there, shaving is something I rarely do anymore other then armpits and for those I usually just use a cheap-o razor and then wonder why they always feel irritated afterwards! Mystery solved - a decent razor and a little shave cream and irritation is a thing of the past! Here are my faves right now:

Gillette Satin Care with a Touch of Olay - $3.49 - contains shea butter which makes it great for dry skin and protects the skin against moisture loss during your shave and Gillette Venus & Olay Razor - $11.99 (replacement cartridges also available - 3 pack - $17.83) - with 5 blades and an Olay moisture bar with skin conditioners that keep your shave from feeling rough. Because of the moisture bar you don't necessarily have to use a separate shave cream but I find it a lot more comfortable when I take advantage of both!

Bic Soleil Bella - 8 pack - $6.99 - offers 4 e-z rinse blades that adjust to all your curves, a pivoting head and rubber grip for ultimate comfort and a soothing moisture strip enriched with coconut milk.

 eos Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream - $3.99 - in 2 fragrances: Pomegranate Raspberry and Vanilla Bliss as well as a Sensitive - Fragrance Free version - and packed with natural aloe, oat, shea butter and antioxidant vitamins E & C for a shave that smells good, is ultra moisturizing and leaves your skin looking radiantly healthy. I really appreciate the plastic bottle - no more nasty rusty bottles in your shower!

Test driving Schick Hydro Silk Razor - results and prize winner!

Apparently plenty of you were sick of shaving irritation - judging by how fast we gave away 100 Schick Hydro Silk razors in our giveaway in January! As a matter of fact, they went so fast that Schick took pity on us and all of the e-mails we were still getting and offered up another 100 to our hairy, greedy readers!

So 200 razors later, of course we are very curious to know what our testers thought of their new Schick Hydro Silk razor -

In general most of you:
like the moisturizing water-activated serum
like the handle shape and feel
like how easily it glides and navigates
like how close and comfortable the shave is
like how it only takes one pass to remove hair
like how there are no nicks or razor burn
like how smooth their legs feel afterwards

To get a better shave your suggestions are:

not to use too much pressure
not to use the razor if your hands are slippery
not to let your husband get his hands on it or you will never see it again

And we had some total differences of opinion:
most had no irritation while some of you had slight irritation
some of you found it easy to clean while others found it difficult to clear the blades of hair

Overall it's a positive result with only 5 of you preferring your usual razor over this one and 10 of you complaining about the refill price.

The rest of you like, loved and/or are already planning to repurchase the Schick Hydro Silk!
