Madonna Truth or Dare by Madonna - great for wearing to the 4pm Early Bird Special at Denny's!

Madonna - her name conjures up so many things for me: super star, business woman, innovator, chameleon - I've followed her career since the beginning and have always admired the way she has changed with the times and kept herself relevant. So when I heard she was coming out with her first fragrance I was pretty excited - I figured it would be hot, spicy, exotic, sensual, daring - any or all of the above. Even the advertising lends credence to my assumption.

What I certainly wasn't expecting it to smell like was old lady. It's meant to be a contemporary and sexy reinvention of a classic white floral but all it conjures up for me is talcum powder, acrylic sweaters in colours that begin with the word "powder" and sensible orthopedic shoes. I guess the whole "Madge" thing was a harbinger of geriatric events to come...

With top notes of rich gardenia, creamy tuberrose and dewy neroli; heart notes of jasmine, benzoin tears and white lily petals; and base notes of vanilla absolute, caramelized amber and musk aura - it may just be your thing, or make a heck of a Christmas gift for grandma!

Truth or Dare by Madonna - 50ml EDP - $65, 75ml EDP - $75 - is available at The Bay, Sears, Sephora, Shoppers Drug Mart and Jean Coutu.

As well there is a 200ml Body Lotion - $39, 200ml Shower Gel - $35 - at The Bay, Sears and Jean Coutu.

Be sure to pick some up the next time you are in the store for your weekly supply of Depends!

Canada is full of stylish men and Sharp Magazine and The Bay are out to find the sharpest. The Search for Canada’s Sharpest Man, a national one month contest identifying the Canadian guy with the most panache and pizzazz kicked off June 1, 2012. To initially launch and facilitate the hunt, photo kiosks will be set up in The Bay store locations in downtown Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
From June 1st until June 10th, men are invited to visit the colourful mustard kiosks stationed by the West End Shops of The Bay men’s designer department, and capture an image or video of themselves in their stylish “duds,” which will be uploaded to SharpForMen.com. Entrants will rally their social networks to vote for their submission.
After June 10th, sharp Canadian men everywhere will be able to submit their photos online at SharpForMen.com. At the end of the voting period, the Top three with the most votes from each city, as well as the Top three online entries (total 15 finalists), will be judged by the fashion-savvy panel: Jeremy Freed, Sharp Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Suzanne Timmins, Fashion Director of The Bay and Shawn Hewson, Project Runway Canada judge and Bustle clothing designer. The winner will be flown to Toronto for a photo shoot, which will be part of a four-page feature in the September Style issue of Sharp Magazine, and a $5000 West End Shop designer shopping spree from The Bay.

And last but not least, the wonderful Dr. Torgerson, who you have heard me rave about often is in need of 5 women- aged anywhere from 35-60, who have never had injectable filler done before or who have not had anything done for a minimum of 1 year to volunteer for Perlane & Restylane injections (that's thousands of dollars worth of product for free!)
He will be injecting for the national Medicis Ad campaign that will air on TV this Fall - as well as a special show on Breakfast Television in September. The images would be used in the ad and one woman out of the 5 would be the main woman in the TV ad - as well, one or more of the women will also be on the BT show.
If you're interested just email both profile sides of your face as well as a frontal face view (non-smiling in all photos) to his office at info@drtorgerson.com

Bags and dark circles get relief from Yes To Blueberries, Nip + Fab, Philosophy, Biotherm Homme and NeoStrata Men!

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul which means most of the time my soul is saying things like - "I'm tired" and "I'm too old to be drinking that much"!... which means what my soul really needs is a good eye product and here are a few that I've had my eye on or on my eye -

Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Brightening Eye Roller - 14.7ml -$21.99 - this 99% natural and paraben free brightening eye roller is formulated with horse chestnut to help brighten under the eyes as well as improve skin firmness, diminish fine lines and wrinkles and nourish age damaged skin.

Knowing how much I love fruit scented body products, you can imagine how much it tickles me to be able to use fruit products on my face too! This has been my favourite eye product lately - it feels so nice and cool going on and doesn't feel sticky or tacky like some rollers can. I think it might even smell like blueberries - which don't have much of a scent so that might just be my own wishful thinking... The perfect product to have for the morning after whatever you were doing the night before that you shouldn't have been!

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Nip + Fab Dark Circle Fix - 15ml - $15.95 - with a triple action formula that reduces the appearance of puffiness (with tetra peptide) and dark circles (with red algae) while adding moisture to make your skin look smooth and feel soft ( with shea butter).

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Philosophy Eyes Wide Open Instant Refreshing and Depuffing Eye Gel - 15ml - $39 - a lightweight, clear gel that visibly depuffs the eye area with bioflavonoids and caffeine while natural seaweed extracts and hyaluronic acid refresh eyes for a bright, rested appearance. As well, revitalizing extracts help hydrate while aiding in moisture retention to help smooth the appearance of fine lines for more youthful-looking skin.

Available at Sephora and select The Bay and Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

And if you're sick of the boy stealing yours (or looking at his puffy eyes if he doesn't bother to) - pick him up one of his own in a manly version and for him I really recommend a roller ball eye moisturizer, the less effort things are, the more likely he is to do it. Here are a couple that my husband has tried and likes:
Biotherm Homme High Recharge Eye Shot - 15ml - $25 - an anti-fatigue cold eye gel massage to reduce visible signs of fatigue on the eye contour with 3 powerful ingredients: caffeine - to reduce puffiness; sericoside - to promote micro-circulation; and manganese - to help protect against free radicals. With not one but three roller balls to help deflate eye bags, eliminate dark circles and hydrate the eye contour.
NeoStrata Men Eye Contour Anti-Aging Gel - 10ml - $32 - reduces fine lines, wrinkles and promotes skin firmness while moisturizing.

Available at drugstores including Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall and Pharmaprix.
