The evening started off with a fashion show with clothes from LOVAS by Wesley Badanjak - and without Christelle there to take the pictures I learned that fashion photography is a hard job - you wouldn't think models could walk so fast on 4 inch heels and a diet of cigarettes and Fresca, but those girls can move! I ended up with a lot of pictures of my lap - luckily Christelle was at his show at Toronto fashion week and you can check out her post here to see the pics.
After the show ended, they opened up the magical room of shoes and bags - happiness really is a roomful of shoes - and we got to take a look at what we will be seeing in the stores for fall - as you can see, animal prints are still with us - I am loving that open toed leopard number with the ankle straps!
Still lots of studding - and I adore the chains on the flats - and of course we have suede for fall!
Embellishment all over the place on both the heels and flats. As you know, I'm partial to a ballet flat so I was drooling over the whole bunch of these! There are lots of jewel tones and metallics - this is going to be one rich looking fall! I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore these feather accents!
And if you were worried it was all getting a little too sweet looking - back to edgy we go - I don't know which I love more - the mesh booties or these studded heels - obviously I will have to buy both!
Other trends I saw (I don't want to crash your computer with too many pictures) - black and gold, faux fur, men's wear inspired and lots of sparkle!
I know it's barely flip flop season so it seems crazy to be excited by fall shoes - but a little part of me, having seen what's coming up, just can't wait for fall shoes to hit the stores!

Oh good lord. Looking at some of those flats brings me back to the 80's. The cupcakes look yummy...and to be honest I'm stuck in the late 1970's as far as footwear goes. I adore high heeled wooden clogs...so obviously my taste in shoes is suspect!
ReplyDeleteYou know you just said that about the clogs in your outside voice - right Elvira? I'd say it will be our little secret but now the whole blogasphere knows... I don't remember those from the 80's I was too busy with my Peter Pan getaway boots and jellies! ;-)
