Marc Jacobs Splash Summer 2011 Collection

Marc Jacobs Splash fragrances are back in fun new scents - these ones inspired by the first sip of a refreshing cocktail on a sunny summer day!

Cranberry - 300ml - $85 - with top notes of pink grapefruit, cranberry pulp, bergamot and tangerine; mid notes of ginger flower, honeysuckle, ozonic accord and red currant; and base notes of vetiver, icy musk, precious woods and exotic woods.

Ginger - 300ml - $85 - with top notes of fresh cut ginger, nutmeg and cognac oil; mid notes of granadilla, geranium bourbon and rhubarb; and base notes of sandalwood, amber crystals and musks.

Curacao - 300ml - $85 - with top notes of blood oranges, bitter orange bigarde, lime and mandarin; mid notes of violet, pear and apricot; and base notes of white moss, amber, musk and sandalwood.

I tried so hard dear readers to smell them all but the tester gods are against me!  I have been haunting Sephora for weeks now and they keep telling me that they don't have testers yet.  I have smelled Ginger and it is lovely, a little bit little bit like ginger ale without the fizz but a bit warmer.  The Cranberry and Curacao are the ones I really want to get my nose on!  Has anyone smelled them and what do you think?

All are available (but possibly without testers) for a limited time at The Bay, Holt Renfrew, Sephora and Murale.

  1. curacao sounds the most interesting to me. i'm normally not a fan of citrusy scents, but the amber, musk & sandalwood might ground it enough for me to like it.

  2. I've tried the curacao-it's nice if you like citrusy/fruity fragrances of which I'm not. It's hard to get to smell the base notes as it disappears so fast since it is a body splash. At least I couldn't smell them. I couldn't get past the orange.
