Illuminate my life! Giorgio Armani, Pur Minerals, Shu Uemura and Revlon

Do you remember when you were 18 and could stay up all night, get up the next day with only a couple of hours sleep and your skin still looked all glowy and radiant?  That glow is called youth my friend, if you've still got it, enjoy it while you can!  The rest of us resort to cheek pinching, cold showers and less painfully, illuminators!  If you haven't yet come over to the bright side, you are in for a treat!

Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Radiance - 40ml - $55 - not to be confused with the Face Fabric Foundations - the Radiance won't give you coverage but it will give a glowing complexion.  There are a few different ways you can wear it - on top of, underneath or mixed in with your foundation.  If you are going to wear it all over your face then I recommend either under or mixed with your foundation otherwise you might find it to be too shiny.  You just need the tiniest amount - you want to be glowy, not shiny!  It comes in 3 colours: 1-light, 2-medium or 3-medium dark.  It's Limited Edition and available at Holt Renfrew.

Pür Minerals Mineral Light - $21.50 - If you like your illuminator to be subtle, this one is a great choice - it is very faintly pink in colour and not overly shimmery. I like to add this one, as well as the other powder ones to my cheeks and chin but I tend to avoid my T-zone as it is shiny enough on it's own during the hot months!  Available at The Shopping Channel - www.theshoppingchannel.com and selected Shoppers Drug Marts.
Shu Uemura Flawless Glow Powder - $46 - From the Gem Glam summer collection - the top half is the highlighter, the bottom is a bronzer - this is a great choice if you use both products and wants to save some space in your purse or makeup bag.  I wasn't sure about this illuminator, the green and purple threw me off a bit - but of course the green corrects redness and purple corrects yellow/sallowness in the skin.  The shimmer is very subtle so I actually use the illuminator by itself and it does an excellent job of evening out my skin tone on days when I can't be bothered to put on foundation - it doesn't offer any coverage of course but it does make me look more polished!  If you want one don't wait, it's limited edition and available at Holt Renfrew.

Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder - Brighten - $19.99 - this would probably be a better all-over brightener on someone not as pale as myself as it is quite pink.  If you are pale and want a subtle blush then this is excellent for that so I have been using this on days when I do a strong eye or lip and want a very toned down cheek colour.  I did also try it out on a friend of mine who is a more "normal" skin tone and this was really pretty on her, it added just a hint of shimmer that was very flattering.
