LUSH needs you to Paws and Listen!

PAWS Soap  - $5.95 - limited edition soap with the fresh earthy scent of sandalwood and citrus oils.  All proceeds from the sale of PAWS soap will be donated to the Vancouver Humane Society to support their efforts in ending animal suffering, cruelty and exploitation.

In light of the recent horror in BC with sled dogs being slaughtered - you can find the story here - LUSH has teamed up with the Vancouver Humane Society to campaign for an all out ban against sled dog races and tours in BC.

You can find more information about the Paws and Listen campaign on their website – www.lush.com/pawsandlisten
as well as sign a petition to help the campaign ban the practice!

I don't know how any animal lover or even animal liker can hear a story like that and not be outraged - so be sure to go to the site and sign the petition and pick yourself up a wonderful smelling soap (that will also help make a difference)!

  1. Such a shame a similar animal based campaign isn't being launched in the UK! It's probably wrong of me to prefer donating to animal charities, but I just feel there's so much attention on human related ones at the moment!

What a gorgeous bar of soap!

  4. The movement to ban sled dog racing and sled dog tours doesn't help sled dogs; it punishes the people who actually care about their dogs who participate in these activities. LUSH and the VHS are putting their energy towards something that does not address people who are the problem - the people who abuse and neglect their dogs in pursuit of profit.

  5. I don't disagree with you Bravewolf - unfortunately animal cruelty does not get punished in any sort of meaningful way so there is little to stop people who abuse the system (and their animals). I think it's a shame for those who are doing it right lose their opportunity to participate but I would rather that then see some animals suffer because of those who don't actually care about the animals. Best case scenario would be to get the laws changed so that animal cruelty actually becomes a crime with serious consequences!
