GlossyBox - beauty brought right to your door!

Germany's GlossyBox beauty subscription service has finally made it's way to Canada for your sampling pleasure! Working pretty much the same way the other sampler services do - they deliver 5 deluxe (and sometimes a special 6) samples to your door every month at a cost of $15.

February's inaugural box came packaged beautifully in pink and ribbons and chock full of some really great products. My preference when it comes to these services, is to get products I haven't tried from brands I know, or have at least heard of. And on that score, this box hit a home run!
Included in February's box were:

Ahava Mineral Hand Cream - sample, Elizabeth Grant Skin Care Moisturizing Stick - full size, Essie Nail Enamel in Neo Whimsical - full size, Oscar de la Renta Live in Love Body Lotion - sample, Elizabeth Arden Prevage Night Anti-Aging Restorative Cream - sample and Beauty So Clean Sanitizing Wipes and Mist - sample.

My particular loves from this box are the Ahava Hand Cream (so needed these days), the Elizabeth Grant Lip Balm and how can I not love the Essie polish - so pretty!

It will be interesting to see as the months go by if they can keep up this level of brand quality, I have my fingers crossed for them!

The service also encourages you to review the products you receive and to get your friends to drink the GlossyBox kool-aid. In return they reward you with GlossyDots - 20 for every product you review (up to 5 a month) and 200 for every friend who joins. When you reach 1,000 GlossyDots that month's box is coming your way free!

You can check out all the GlossyBox details and their blog at www.glossybox.ca.

  1. looks great! But it is more expensive than the other boxes out there (Top Box, Glymm, Luxe) so I'll have to see if it's worth the extra money!

  2. Oooh.. I'm excited about this new service. I kind of splurged on a new subscription in a fit of school stress-induced madness. :) Seeing the quality of your goodies makes me feel better.

@OPI Addict, the thing is, Glossybox's price includes S&H, so the price difference isn't as big as you think. :)

If anyone would like to try Glossybox, I would love it if you'd consider using my referral link: http://tinyurl.com/BooBooGlossy
I believe I get some GlossyDots if you sign up through my link.

Lisamarie -- please feel free to delete my link. I couldn't find a rule against posting urls, but I want to be respectful of your website!

  3. No worries, rules make me itchy so I don't really have any! Now that's interesting - do the other sample services charge S&H on top of the $12 or whatever it usually costs? In that case it would come out about even!

  4. I believe both Glymm and TopBox charge S&H, which brings their monthly totals to $11.20. I don't know about Luxe Box because I don't subscribe to them.

I actually jumped on the Glossybox train because of a bad experience with my last Glymm box. They omitted one of my products but instead of just sending it to me, they want me to pay S&H because I've canceled my subscription. The other two options they presented involve me purchasing more products from them. Needless to say I'm a bit annoyed. :P Thanks for letting me vent! (I just received an email from them.)

Back on topic -- so, Glossybox does end up being $3+ more expensive, but I'm encouraged by their track record in the UK. They seem to put really good items in their boxes!

  6. Nope, it just showed up! I know they did get things shipped out later than they were expecting so hopefully yours will show up soon!

  8. The press box is different from boxes others have been getting, I got my box and I have to say I am rather disappointed. Hopefully they will redeem themselves next month
