Mascara Monday - Mascara Noir G de Guerlain

Mascara Noir G de Guerlain is the new mascara coming out with the spring collection. What makes it really interesting is that it's refillable which totally takes away the guilt factor of having to throw away the absolutely beautiful packaging when it's empty! The mascara adds volume and definition and has a colour innovation: vitrified black carbon pigments, more black and more brilliant, coated in a glass ball. The magnifying glass effect multiplies the intensity and the depth of the black! It also has a long-lasting polymer film sets the formula on the lashes, without the slightest smudge or risk of the formula flaking.

What I really like about this mascara is the packaging - it's super heavy so you could use it as a weapon in a pinch, I love having a mirror right on it and I like the brush - not too big, which makes it much easier for me to control!

The mascara formula is nice, not too wet, and this is 2 coats - it was very hard for me not to whip out my lash comb, I am so not a thickening mascara lover!

On the right rather than doing 2 separate coats, I did just 1 thick one and I actually like the effect a lot more, it seems less spikey to me.

I'm always interested to see if the mascara will add some curl if I use a curling action with the wand when applying which is what I did on the right hand side and as you can see, it works!

Despite the "colour innovation" I don't see anything blacker about this mascara compared to any other I've used. I will agree that there was so smudging or flaking even after a whole day of wear.
