I can't understand why cold weather is so hard on my feet, unlike the the other seasons I wear some sort of socks or stockings everyday and have the extra protection of boots and yet this is the time of year that my feet look the worst! Luckily I have a sure-fire solution to dry, yukky feet - cotton socks over a thick layer of foot cream left on overnight. And here are best ones I've found to use:
Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream - 125ml - $37 - offers soothing relief for tired feet with a formula that helps relieve swelling and fatigue with arnica extract; smoothes away roughness with virgin cashew nut oil and shea butter; purifies with essential oil of thyme; and strengthens and beautifies nails with myrrh.
Available at Clarins counters across Canada.
Eucerin Smoothing Foot Crème - 50 ml -$13.99 - with a non-greasy, light formula containing 10% Urea, Lactic Acid and Glycerin to intensively moisturize and replenish the skin of rough and chapped feet with scales, calluses and cracks.
Available at major drug, pharmacy and mass merchandise stores across Canada
Gold Bond Ultimate Intense Dry Skin Relief Foot Cream - 96g - $13.99 - a fragrance free, non-greasy textured cream that reduces discomfort, irritation, dryness and redness offering a noticeable improvement in skin moisturization in just 1 hour thanks to 7 moisturizers, 3 vitamins and aloe as well as white petrolatum cream that not only seals in moisture but also protects dry, cracked skin as it heals.
Available at drug and grocery stores across Canada.
Dr. Teal’s Foot Care
Gift Set - $9 - includes Eucalyptus Spearmint Epsom Salt Foot Scrub and
Soothing Foot Cream - that smells just like a candy cane along with a double ended pedicure tool - makes a perfect gift when you are trying tell the ones you love - hey, your feet are gross, do something about them!
Available at Walmart.
The cream trick works even better if you get rid of the dry, rough bit first with:
Emjoi The MICRO Pedi - $49.99 - an innovative pedicure device
created to easily remove, dry, rough and callused skin from the feet in
seconds! With two interchangeable rollers: a pink one that's coarse for
dry skin; and a blue roller that's extra-coarse for extra exfoliating
for the rougher areas of the feet.
You will especially
love it if you hate those metal scrapers they use at the spa - there is
absolutely no chance of cutting your skin with this baby! It's super
quick to use, just a couple of minutes and you're done - but I admit it,
the best part is watching the flakes of dry skin fall from the roller
to the floor, like a dry scaly snake shedding it's gross rough skin!
And if your boy has a problem with stealing your stuff, you'll be happy to know that there's also a MICRO Pedi Man so tell him to get his own!
