This week I'm obsessed with... Old Navy “Mickey Through the Decades” Vintage Tee Collection!

Old Navy has launched a “Mickey Through the Decades” Vintage Tee Collection to celebrate Mickey's 85th Anniversary and I'm in love!

The collection includes Mickey Mouse and his friends in rarely seen art on vintage-style tees for the whole family, with classic artwork that explores how Mickey and other beloved Disney characters have evolved over the decades - and at $19.94 a pop, there's no reason I can't have one of everything!

Available in store and online at:  http://mickey.oldnavypromos.com/index-ca.html

and while you're on the site, be sure to enter the sweepstakes to win a $10K Disney tour in LA!

Maxi dresses at mini prices from Old Navy, RW&CO, Reitman's and mark.!

As a short person I always thought I couldn't wear a maxi dress, even though I love them but I recently read that extra-long skirts actually make you look taller and are a much more flattering look for shorties rather than dresses that cut you off somewhere mid calf!  This is good news as there are lots of maxi dresses out there to love right now - of course I will still need alter the hell out of it but I can use the extra material to make a tent or something! Here are a few that have caught my eye lately:

Old Navy Pink Stripe Chiffon Maxi Dress - $39.94  - sizes XS - XXL - also available in purple stripe colour.

Available in store and online at www.oldnavy.ca
RW&CO White Maxi Dress - $78 - sizes 00 - 14 - viscose with cotton lining - this is such a romantic looking dress and perfect for when I am running across windswept moors and the like...
Reitmans Tribal Print Maxi Dress - $46 - in sizes 3 - 17 - while I love this one in theory, I already know that the smocking on the chest is not going to be my friend - the guys would love it though...
mark. Easy Going Maxi Dress - $49 - in a zebra print with adjustable straps and elastic detailing at the bustline - sizes S (3-5), M (7-9), L (11-13), XL (15), XXL (17)

Available from your Avon rep - 1-800-265-AVON or online at www.avon.ca

Old Navy Studio Spotlight - Kim Brennecke

Just in time for summer Old Navy has launched Studio Spotlight - a new sub brand that features product developed by Old navy's talented designers, in select stores and at www.oldnavy.ca.

New capsule collections will launch every other month, with each highlighting the unique designer personalities behind the Old Navy brand.

First up and available now is San Francisco-based Kim Brennecke (referred to by friends as "Kim B" each piece includes a small bee icon) is Old Navy’s women’s designer and debuts Studio Spotlight with a nine piece ‘Victorian chic’ capsule collection ranging from $16.94-$39.94. The collection combines Victorian heirloom with masculine military featuring vintage detailing and elevated trims.

Kim’s collection pieces include: White sleeveless gathered-neck tea length dress - $39.94; Cuffed sateen shorts - $29.94 (in schooner blue or rust); Sateen khaki pants - $39.94 (in schooner blue and olive), Woven flutter top, $29.94 (in vibrant green or off-white); Lace inset tank - $19.94 (in off-white or ‘silver blaze’); Chiffon pinktuck tank - $19.94 (in white or vibrant green).
And this Drop-waist pintuck front dress - $39.94 in coral (it also comes in off-white) that Kim and I agreed was our favourite piece out of the collection.

The collection’s hues and silhouettes are part of the season’s larger trend stories and mix perfectly with some of Kim’s favourite Old Navy summer pieces like the best tees and ‘pop’ pants. I love this Vintage pink tee - $12.50 - not only is it the softest thing ever and available in tons of colours and necklines, it has no tags or scratchy seams which makes it perfect for layering!

Kim’s Studio Spotlight collection is available at:

Ontario: Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Mall,  Square One Shopping Centre,  Lime Ridge Mall (Hamilton) and Georgia Mall (Barrie)
Alberta: Chinook Centre, West Edmonton Mall and South Edmonton Mall
and online at www.oldnavy.ca

Active by Old Navy helps you look good while exercising without breaking the bank!

It seems that I'm not going to be able to use not being able to afford exercise wear as an excuse not to exercise anymore now that Old Navy has launched an incredibly affordable activewear line! Active by Old Navy is made with quality cotton, spandex and compression fabrics and includes a range of pieces designed for performance.

The collection for women and men is perfect for anything from running to Pilates to yoga and offers attributes like stretchy and slimming compression fabric, moisture wicking, tag-free labels, flat lock to seams to prevent chafing and zipper pockets in pants and jackets to keep keys and other items from falling out - all combine for comfort and functionality during low and high-impact workouts.

The pieces come in a mix and match palette of solid colours and patterns that will change throughout the year. Items include: Side shirred compression capris and pants - $29.94-$36.94; Compression crop and full length leggings - $27.94-$32.94; Compression tanks - $26.94; Seamless cami and racerback tanks - $16.50; Active sports bra - $16.50; Premium capris and pants - $42.94-$46.94; and Compression jackets (shown) - $44.94.

As someone who isn't crazy about activewear because it always makes me look like the before pictures in fitness ads - I was pleased to discover that compression is latin for "sucks in all your fat so you look 10 pounds thinner"!

Available now in-store or online at www.oldnavy.ca
Active by Old Navy was launched in style at 889 Yoga in The Thompson Toronto Hotel where not only did we get to wear an outfit from the new line, but also take a yoga class. I chose the Restorative class and I have to tell you, it was freaking amazing! I was just getting over a cold so I was worried that the class might be too much for me but it was kind of like quasi sleeping in weird positions for 45 minutes - often with a lavender scented bean bag over my eyes to block the light - any class that promotes sleeping during exercise is okay in my book! I understand there are also other classes that are a little more movement inspired but I'll leave that to you ambitious types.

You can find 889 Yoga at 889 Yonge Street or at their new location at The Thompson Hotel at 550 Wellington Street W. and you can get more info at www.889yoga.com

Dress like a celebrity on a normal person's budget!

When women are looking to achieve a personal style that fills them with excitement and confidence - they turn to my friend Lisa, the Practical Fashionista. Personally trained by Stacy London from TLC''s 'What Not to Wear', Lisa is a Personal Wardrobe Stylist and Image Consultant who not only works on-on-one with women, but also offers regular tips on fashion and style through her blog. And today she is doing just that with her guest post on how to 'Get the Celeb Look for Less'.

There are so many fashion posts out there showing ‘Celebrity Looks for Less’, but the one thing that always annoys me about them is they don’t always list where the pieces are from. And if they do, the items are from U.S. stores only.

So, that’s why I decided to do a ‘Look for Less’ with one of my fave celebs, Reese Witherspoon – sporting this super funky 70’s boho meets urban cowgirl look. And of course, all of the pieces to re-create this look are available at a Canadian mall near you! Cool, eh? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!) Here's where:

Floppy Felt Hat - Old Navy - $19.94
Plaid Ruffled Blouse - Smart Set - $38.00
Buffalo David Bitton Faux Fur Vest - The Bay - $79.00
Braided Belt - Danier -  $19.99
Baby Bootcut Denim Jean - Smart Set - $56.00
