Lanvin Loves H&M: Coming This Fall!

A Elbaz/Picture: Paolo Reversi for H&M
We got the confirmation this morning from H&M: the next H&M collaboration will be with Lanvin!  Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver created both womenswear and menswear collections for fall. The collection will go on sale in around 200 H&M stores. It will be launched on November 20th in North America and on November 23rd in the rest of the world, but the collection will be revealed to the world on November 2nd, just three weeks before the clothes hit the store. This means three weeks to sharpen your nails and stilettos, ladies! You know the drill by now...this is going to be a hell of a fight to get into that H&M store!

I'm very curious to see what Lanvin is going to come up with - because this is one of the top, most respected luxury brand - and Elbaz has been credited for Lanvin's revival, so that should be interesting. Watch this space, I will post the pictures as soon as I get them!

What Does Zara Have in Store for You? I've Got The Answer in My Purse!

Zara's new looks for Fall are almost around the corner, yet the Spanish label has come out with a few new summer designs. After a caramel and dusty pink color palette (yuck) early this season, floral patterns are making their appearance, inspired by the latest runway shows.

Prices are always a little tricky to find on Zara's website so I downloaded the Zara iPhone app and all the information you need is right at your fingertips: the app includes pictures and prices of all the garments, look books, what's new in store etc... the navigation is not great (it's quite slow) but it's a good shopping companion.

New in stores:

$109

Top - $49.90
Shoes $69.90
Green dress $45.90

Shoes $59.90

Obakki Designs: between Urban Goddess and Casual Fashionista

This Obakki Spring Summer collecion 2010 is always about draping, fluidity and classic shapes with a twist. The tank top becomes statement, draped, patterned, colorful. The pants high-waisted and lean.
The color palette is fairly soft and muted with the occasional burst of color. I am more into fitted garments but this line gives off a vibe of both quiet elegance and a sophisticated casualness.
Most of all, the clothes are made in Vancouver! We like. Treana Peake, Obakki owner has also traveled to Africa and incorporated some of her inspiration back to her designs. She created the Obakki foundation which carries super cute outfits to support this foundation.

You can find Obakki in boutiques across Canada as well as in the US and online. You can now buy the fall/winter stock at a 75% discount!

Obakki has a menswear line as well...

Bizarre French Connection

Following in Diesel's footsteps, French Connection has created a silly ad campaign for Spring. Men transform into modern cavemen, sporting bushy beards and bunny ears (a big trend this year) while bored women look on with a vacant look. This campaign is definitely...different!
