Megan Fox is the new face for Giorgio Armani Beauty!

There's a new face around the Armani office - the very doable Megan Fox!  Giorgio Armani feels that Megan Fox incarnates his vision of beauty and embodies the spirit of the women of today:  free, confident and seductive.  He pontificates that her beautiful features reveal femininity, sensuality and strength.  Basically he thinks she's smokin' hot and who can blame him?!

Megan will be the new face of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics beginning in October 2010. Keep an eye out in September when the first pictures will be released, I'm sure they will be hot!

Jerome C. Rousseau Has Hollywood at His Feet.

I came across Jerome C. Rousseau's designs a few days ago and I had to share my discovery: this label has only been around since 2008 but it already kicks ass! These shoes -which combine my love for high heels, glitter and geometry- have been featured in Vogue and Elle. They adorn the feet of celebrities like Cameron Diaz, or Scarlet Johansson. You can see why: it's colorful, it sparkles and it's just well...all around fierce! All these shoes are handmade in Italy and can be purchased here.
More shoes from his fall/winter collection. I absolutely love the purple suede heels: one day, those beauties shall be mine!

Dermaglow has you covered in sun protection!

Obsessed with sunscreen?  Not such a bad thing these days!  If you like really high protection then check out one of my favourite brands, Dermaglow who just introduced a 100 SPF cream which I was very interested to try out when I was at Shoppers this weekend.  I was expecting it to be too thick, white and difficult to absorb and I was wrong on all three counts!

Dermaglow 100 SPF Cream - 50ml - $29.99 - high protection, sheer non-greasy feel and waterproof - is surprisingly sheer,  easily absorbed with no whiteness left behind.

or if you don't need/want that much protection, 70 SPF Cream - 50ml - $28 - offers all the same features.

as does the 70 SPF Body Mist - 141g - $27.50 - my current sunscreen love and so easy to use!

30 SPF Moisture Cream - 50ml - $39.99 - another great sun product that is also your daily moisture cream, kill two birds with one stone and save yourself some time in the morning!

The Body Shop needs you to Lend a Hand to Stop the S*x Trafficking of Children & Young People

Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon and 30 Rock’s Katrina Bowden loaned their star power to the official launch event for The Body Shop 2010 Stop S*x Trafficking of Children & Young People campaign in New York City on July 30, 2010. Sarandon and Bowden were joined by Somaly Mam, Founder of the Somaly Mam Foundation, a Cambodian-based organization that has rescued more than 6,000 women and girls from the s*x trade over the past 10 years. Other celebrities who are supporting the effort to end child s*x trafficking include Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson, Rob Lowe, Uma Thurman, Yoko Ono, Jamie Oliver, Keshia Chante, Deepa Metha, Karen Kain, Rick Campanelli, Victor Malarek, Naomi Campbell and Matt Le Blanc. The New York event marked the start of the second year partnership between The Body Shop, ECPAT, Beyond Borders in Canada and the Somaly Mam Foundation.

This year’s campaign includes a national petition which will be presented to the Canadian government, urging improved legislation to help stamp out s*x trafficking, this modern day slavery. Every year more than 1.2 million children and young people are trafficked around the world becoming victims of s*xual exploitation and abuse, even right here in Canada. S*x trafficking is now the third-largest and fastest-growing criminal industry in the world after illegal drugs and arms trafficking.

To help put a stop to S*x Trafficking, The Body Shop is asking customers and supporters to go to their local The Body Shop store or online at www.thebodyshop.com/stop to sign the petition and encourage others to follow.

In addition to raising awareness of the issue, the Stop S*x Trafficking of Children & Young People campaign also helps those requiring immediate support by raising vital funds. The new special edition Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream ($7) is a protective hand cream that leaves your hands silky soft to the touch. Approximately $5 from every purchase is donated to ECPAT-Beyond Borders in Canada help change the lives of millions of children and young people.

Show your support in style with the new "Stop S*x Trafficking of Children & Young People" Bag for Life.  This re-usable cotton tote bag is emblazoned with a large hand to help raise awareness and funds to help stop s*x trafficking.  The Bag for Life retails for $5.  Funds raised from the sales of the Body Shop Bag for Life and gift bags go to the Somaly Mam Foundation to support rehabilitation and support services in Cambodia.

New and Notable from Shoppers Drug Mart - L'Oréal, L'Oréal and more L'Oréal!

So many new products I hardly know where to start!  So how about with their newest foundation - Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup - $18.99 - in 12 shades including one light enough for me!  Contains effective age-reversing skincare ingredients including Pro-Retinol A (promotes elasticity and cell turnover), Vitamin C (helps diminish discolouration and naturally brightens the complexion), Hyaluronic Acid (transports nutrients and eliminates impurities - helps cells retain water and booths cell activity), Pro-Xylane (helps to restore skin's overall health and suppleness by rebuilding the skin's structure from the inside out) and Pro-Lastyl (firms and renews elastin fibers in the epidermis) to help kin look visibly smoother, firmer and even brighter.

The foundation has a nice soft texture that I like so I am looking forward to trying this one, stay posted for a full review coming soon!

Colour Riche Colour Intense - $10.99 - 8 new bold shades: 285 Pink Fever, 286 Burning Rose, 287 Sparkling Amethyst, 288 Intense Fuchsia, 289 Deep Violet, 291 Fever Brown, 293 Orange Fever, 297 Red Passion - what is also handy is that the display tells you the matching shade of Pro-Manicure Nail Polish so you can coordinate your lips and tips if you are so inclined.  If you like lipstick with a moisturizing formula, then try Colour Riche, they contain Omega 3 oils and Vitamin E which make them very creamy.
Wear Infinité Colour Smokers Eye Shadow Quads - $10.95 - in four new quads: Forest Smokes (greens), Cobalt Smokes (blues), Blackened Smokes (greys), Lavender Smokes (plums) - I love a smoky eye and I especially love a coloured smoky eye and this is such an easy way to do it - all the colours I need and that go together are right there in one case!
Telescopic Explosion Waterproof Eyeliner - $12.95 - available in black and dark brown.  If you aren't a liquid liner spaz like me, you'll be happy to see a waterproof liquid liner!  I went to buy one for a friend a few months ago and I could only find a couple of different kinds!
True Match Touche Magique Concealer + Highlighter - $12.99 - in 6 shades. I am a big fan of the True Match Line because they do such a wide range of shades and for dividing them out into Warm, Cool and Neutral which just makes it so much easier for matching skin tones!  This is the perfect under eye concealer if you have dark circles to hide!
Studio Line Silk & Gloss - Fixing Spray, Mixing Mousse, Volume Spray, Volume Mousse - $6.99 - enriched with silk micro-fibres that transforms hair strand-by-strand giving it a shiny, silk effect with a natural touch and a 24 hour hold.

And because my hair can't resist anything that promises volume, of course I had to try the volume spray and mousse.  I didn't find either sticky or crunchy and I love the spray!  A quick spray at the roots after blow drying really helps the volume level!  I tried the mousse by itself and with the spray and you can really see the difference!  If you are a volume whore too, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Long Wearing Lipgloss from Smashbox, Avon and L'Oréal

Do you find you are more of a lipgloss or lipstick person?  I go through phases where I will wear lipstick or lipgloss for weeks at a time but never one or the other or even both together in one week - am I some sort of lip product racist?!  My biggest complaint, as is most people, with gloss is how long it (doesn't) lasts.  I've always found that the stickier a gloss is, the better staying power it has which isn't the greatest solution (especially if you like to eat flaky things) but luckily the cosmetic companies have been listening and have started coming out with glosses with some staying power!

Smashbox Limitless Long Wearing Lip Gloss SPF 15 - $24 - in 6 colours my favourites of which are Boundless a pretty coral-peachy shade that screams summer and Infinite a pinky nude colour which is perfect with a smoky eye.  It has a vanilla scent that I really dig and a lot of shine!  And of course I appreciate the SPF!  This lasted about 6 hours on me and kept its shine so was my favourite.

Avon Perfect Wear Extralasting Lip Gloss - $9.99 - 8-hour lip gloss in 10 shades:  Forever Diamond, Endless Watermelon, Eternal Rose, Perpetual Pink, Constant Coral, Everlasting Petal, Continuous Copper, Always Apple, Lingering Plum or Infinite Berry.  They have a sweet scent but no flavour.  I found these to be the stickiest of the 3 and also the least shiny.  On the other hand, it is also the longest lasting.  I got a whole days wear out of it without anything more then some minor fading.  If you don't mind your gloss being a bit sticky and a lot not shiny then give it a try - matte lipstick lovers would probably appreciate it! Available from your Avon rep 1-800-265-AVON or online at www.avon.ca

L'Oréal Infallible 6 Hour Mineral Lipgloss - $10.99 - available in 12 colours.  I like this formula because of how creamy it is and I also like the fruity smell (no fruity taste though!)  There is a good range of colours from neutrals to reds and the shape of the applicator makes it easy to apply.  It didn't last 6 hours on me, more like 4 or 5 but that's 3 hours and 50 minutes longer then glosses usually last on me so I won't complain.

Miss Australia Commits a Fashion Crime in Broad Daylight!

Miss Australia is set to compete for the Miss Universe title, in Vegas next month, wearing this... outfit (more like left overs of fabrics that nobody else wanted)  - the dress has been universally panned but what I found most interesting is that while defending her costume and trying to be politically correct...she made me want to punch her in the face. Really hard, with my rings on.
I'm going to tell you why. Jessica Campbell said:
"Part of our Australian identity is our indigenous heritage and it was so important that it was included in the national costume. An Aboriginal artist hand-painted my swimsuit, which is the base of the outfit, which is very special."
Honey, in all this pile of fashion garbage,  the swimsuit is the only saving grace, it has actually a beautiful pattern - all the comments I've read were about that horrible flamenco style dress  and those Ugg boots which have no place in a beauty contest (or anywhere for that matter, in my opinion). Nobody disputed the fact that Aboriginal culture should be included, but stop blaming it for this mess of a dress!

I don't follow beauty pageants, but apparently these national costumes mishaps happen on a regular basis: last year the Japanese contestant outraged her country by wearing a traditional outfit turned street corner uniform...

Thank god these girls have their looks, because if you think you can win the Miss Universe title wearing this, you're probably not all there, if you know what I mean!

Dior, je t'adore!

This fall ad campaign with Karlie Kloss (shot by Steven Meisel) is really pretty. I love the shoes, although these boots were not made for walking in Canada... I wish there were more pictures but that's all we've got for now. In the meantime, I don't get the Dior Homme ad campaign (shot by Karl Lagerfeld, this time) - actually I hate it... and the model is nothing special to look at.
Anyway, why "Dior je t'adore"? Because I found some awesome Dior shoes online which I will show you tomorrow....
