I love Burberry Beauty and want you to as well! Contest!

My favourite new beauty line of 2010 has got to be Burberry Beauty!  One of the reasons is that they know me so well - you may have heard me mention how bummed I am this holiday that neither Dior or Chanel has put out any limited edition charm items for me to covet - Burberry obviously felt my pain and were good enough to come out with this little beauty - Burberry Beauty Lip Charm - $110 - three gun metal cubes with check casing - one containing nude beige lip gloss - all on a clip!  Love it! Do you love it?  Do you want it?  Should we give you one?  If you answered "yes" to all of these questions then are you ever in the right place! 

Of course one tiny little charm doesn't seem like much of a prize so how about a few other items from the Burberry Beauty line?

Lipstick swatch surprises with NARS Petit Monstre and Lancôme Le Rouge L'Wren!

I had always thought my super power was being able to gauge just how much pigmentation a lipstick was going to have and what it would look like on me just by eyeballing it and I have usually been right... until recently when twice in a row I have been totally wrong!

NARS Petit Monstre from the Holiday collection is described as a rich berry and looking at it in the tube I expected it to be a mid-toned sparkling berryish colour...

but on my lips it actually kind of defies description - pinkish nudish?  I can't decide?!

Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Le Rouge L'Wren from the Holiday colour collection - looking at it, I thought it was going to be super rich and darkish red...

but on my lips it is a beautiful berry colour - I expect a dark liner underneath could deepen it quite a bit but I  I quite like it as is!

They might not have turned out to be the colours I was expecting but both turned out to be good surprises! 

Ever had a lipstick turn out totally different on your lips then it seemed in the tube?

NARS Pokerface polish swatches

On a very snowy day in Toronto, I am gaining a lot of joy when I catch glances of my nails today - NARS Pokerface -  it's such a happy colour - it might not scream Holiday Collection to you, but I don't care and obviously neither did NARS since this is part of their Holiday 2010 lineup!

As usual, Chanel has lots of pretty things that belong in my Christmas stocking although I am kind of disappointed that there is no limited edition palette or lipgloss in this collection like they usually have in the holiday one...

Solid fragrances that are charming from Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Thierry Mugler!

Fragrance is one of my favourite things to give as a gift and of course I like to give good quality fragrances - I just find that sometimes, the cost of a bottle of fragrance is more then I'm looking to spend!  Solid perfumes are a great alternative and they come in such fun packaging - who wouldn't love to receive one of these:?!

Avon Nailwear Pro Splendid Blue and Pink Radiance swatches

These super sparkly polishes are part of Avon's holiday collection

Don't be scared of the sparkle though, it's a lot more obvious in the bottle then on your nails. I did find that because of the glitter, it didn't spread as smoothly as their non-glitter polishes do so I ended up using a smudge smoother polish to even things out before using my top coat.
