This week I'm obsessed with... Lierac Sébologie Imperfections Correction Localized Concentrate!

Lierac Sébologie Imperfections Correction Localized Concentrate - 15ml - $27 - a two-phase textured concentrate that reduces the appearance of localized imperfections of acne-prone skin including sebum, dilated pores and residual marks. 

Its formula works thanks to several active ingredients inspired by the resurfacing technique:
zinc gluconate - works on the shine and dilated pores;
salicylic acid - works on the spots and residual marks;
azelaic acid - works on the spots.
and contains two distinct phases to maximize the synergistic efficacy of each.

This isn't your usual spot treatment - it is dual-phase but don't shake it! Instead, take a q-tip and insert into the bottle until it touches the powder at the bottom and apply that to affected areas - it leaves a powder residue on the skin so you will only want to use it at night. And not only is it great on blemishes and marks that already exist - it's a wonder product when you use it on places where you can feel something about to pop up - get it early enough and it keeps the blemish from ever appearing or at the worst, comes and goes very quickly!

Serum saviours from Biotherm, StriVectin, Bioeffect and Lierac!

Serums are an awesome way to add a little something to your skincare routine without adding extra bulk to your skin. They're light but man can they be effective! Here are a few that I'm particularly fond of:

Biotherm Blue Therapy Serum - 50ml - $65 - offers regenerating, firming a strengthening benefits to the skin with a fusion of three highly-charges aquatic actives - 2 algaes from the Celtic sea and Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon and Biotherm's proprietary ingredient, Pure Thermal Plankton extract from the mineral-rich thermal springs of the French Pyrenees. Together they repair signs of aging from foundation to surface including wrinkles, firmness and dark spots to erase accumulated aging and reveal younger-looking skin.

It will be a relief to you to know that 80% of accumulated signs of aging can be visibly repaired - the only thing you can't fight is time but that's only 20% of the problem!

The formula itself is imbued with reflective mother-of-pearl hues giving the skin instant radiance which melts into the skin, leaving a hydrating film on its surface. Which feels nice but I don't find super-hydrating so if you are dry you might want to try using the companion Blue Therapy Cream with it.

StriVectin-SD Power Serum for Wrinkles - 50ml - $109 - with elastin stimulating peptides, plant stem cells and NIA-114 which together, are clinically proven to help visibly repair the length, width and number of wrinkles, while also diminishing the look of pores, boosting skin's natural luminosity and optimizing clarity for a youthful look and feel.

I don't have enough wrinkles to speak to how well that aspect of this serum works but I will say as far as pore diminishing and radiance goes, I did see a difference in about 3 weeks. My pores are less visible and my skin has a lovely "just been to the spa" glow about it!

Bioeffect EGF Serum - 15ml - $185 - contains Epidermal Growth Factor - a plant-based cellular activator produced in barley to enhance natural rejuvenation of the skin that improves complexion and renews youthful glow for firmer skin, more even skin tone and reduction of visible fine lines and wrinkles.

What's really nice about it is the silky feel of the serum and how little of it you have to use - just a few drops (which is a good thing considering the price) - and that it contains only 9 ingredients, none of which are preservatives, fragrances or colourants! It also moisturizes deeply and diminishes dry spots which makes it a great choice for winter if you have combination skin like me but don't like to use a heavy cream.

Lierac Paris Concentré Mésolift Toning Radiance Serum - 30ml - $65 - a very hydrating serum with  a high concentration (15%) of vitamins A, C, E, B5, and B6, along with minerals and hyaluronic acid to help with uneven skin pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and improves skin tone for a glowing, youthful look.

The best thing about it is how smooth it leaves your skin feeling - this is the kind of serum I wear during the warmer months without a moisturizer but during the winter I do find I need some extra moisture in any drier areas.

Peel and reveal brighter skin with Philosophy, Murad and Lierac!

One of the best things you can do for your skin is a weekly peel - not only do they make your skin look and feel smoother and brighter, everything else you put on your skin after will absorb and work better!

You'll love the results so much you will be tempted to want to peel more often but don't, especially if your skin is at all sensitive - I can tell you from experience that using a weekly peel more often can turn your skin red, flaky and itchy!

There are four single use vials in the pack but unless you have a giant James Van Der Beek pumpkin head, you'll only need half the vial for each application which makes this peel a much better buy as it will last you 8 weeks instead of four!

I have no idea what "blurring" fatty cells means but I do know that within 3 weeks, this light gel-cream had my orange peel thighs looking much smoother! I also like how easily it absorbs and that it doesn't feel sticky after applying making you have to wait to get dressed. The only thing I don't like was how the product comes out of the bottle - there is an opening in the center of the top that you squeeze the product out of, but due to this design, excess product remains on the top that you have to wipe off and if you don't get it all off, a film of old product starts to develop which is kind of gross - I would much prefer this in some sort of pump!

Lierac Paris Morpho-Slim Anti-Cellulite Concentrate

I haven't posted about cellulite creams in quite awhile and you were probably thinking that I finally got over my obsession with them...no such luck!  The obsession lives - in the winter it calms down a bit though as I am always so bundled up - so I only use it once a day instead of twice so I don't go through it quite as fast!  Not to worry, with spring on the way I will be upping my usage again so you can look forward to lots more lovely cellulite cream reviews!  Here's the one I most recently finished:

Lierac Paris Morpho-Slim Anti-Cellulite Concentrate - 200ml - $62 - for recontouring and firming it contains a combination of ultra-concentrated active caffeine (10%) and glaucine complex (2.5%) for simultaneous action on the appearance of cellulite and skin firmness.  Gel serum texture that is non-sticky and alcohol free.  In just 15 days, the look of dimpled skin is reduced and your skin feels smoother and your thighs appear more refined.

First off the three things I liked most about this product, the smell (fresh, kind of citrusy), the pump and the firming effect!  After applying this my skin immediately felt tighter and firmer which of course makes the little dimples look less obvious!  The texture is nice - a gel serum that absorbed quickly and wasn't sticky.  The downside of course is that as soon as you stop using it, the problems are all back!

If they would just make this is a vat size - I would just soak in it everyday - what do you say Lierac?

Creams that worry about gravity so you don't have to - from Lierac, Lancôme, Olay Professional Pro-X, Avon Anew and Dermaglow!

Although I haven't made it to the lifting cream point yet, I have been noticing that my jaw line isn't quite as tight as it was when I was 20 so I thought it wasn't a bad idea to start doing my homework and check out what's out there...
