Scarves and hats seem to be the best solution and luckily there are lots of choices that will keep me warm without overheating - including:
FRAAS Fairisle Infinity Scarf - $40 - made of acrylic, nylon and wool, it's super soft and lightweight and comes in 4 colours: navy/turquoise, camel/ivory, rose/petal and black/grey. What makes the circle scarf great of course is demonstrated below by the endless variety of ways in which they can be worn! I love the feminine touch this fairisle pattern adds!

I like berets because there are several ways to wear them including pushed back on the head if you just want to make a fashion statement, pushed forward if you need to hide you forehead or pulled all the way down to keep you ears warm! They are also great for bad hair days because they are one of the few hats that you can wear indoors and get away with!
