This week I'm obsessed with... Lowe's summer patio accessories... on my dressing table!

This week I'm obsessed with... Lowe's patio throw pillows!

Now that the spring weather seems to be around to stay I have been taking a good look at my outdoor spaces and realize that they just look sad and need some serious perking up. Since I'm still waiting for that big lottery win, it also needs to be done on a budget - a few new throw pillows should do the job so off I went looking at all of my usual decorative haunts - Pier One, Home Sense, The Bay - I was horrified at the prices and not that impressed with the styles either!

While debating the crazy idea of taking up sewing and making my own, I happened on the Lowe's Patio Collection lookbook - where along with all the really comfy looking patio furniture (first on my list after that lottery win) they also feature all kinds of outdoor accessories including a multitude of vibrant pillows, just what I was looking for! Of course I have learned my lesson (thanks a lot Wayfair.ca) about expecting things in catalogues to look the same in person so I went to my closest Lowe's store to check them out and in this case, they are just as nice IRL so win!

Best of all, they won't break the bank - the pillows range in the $20-$30 range with deals to be found (right now there is a BOGO 50% sale that ends today so hurry up).

It's that time of year again when I never quite know what to wear. It's not yet cold enough for all my winter gear but if I go out in just a fall coat I usually end up cold, especially indoors since a lot of businesses don't seem to have turned on the heat yet!

So I thought I was following the whole menswear inspired watch deal - for a change I thought I was actually on trend! Sadly, it was pointed out to me the other day that although yes, my watch is clunky and over sized the fact it is hot pink, takes it out of the menswear category! Killjoy!

Apparently it has to be gold or silver to really count - I don't know who makes up these rules and although I still love Mr. Pinky, these are the ones I've been eying lately in my sad attempt to be a little bit timely (get it? - timely? I kill me!):

Do You Want to be BIGGER THAN KANYE WEST? We Know How!

...without ABUSIVE USE OF CAPITALIZATION! I've got a few ideas to give Kanye a run for his money. Our rapper dons a necklace almost as big as his ego in his latest video called "Power" and since big accessories are all the rage, I prepared my own selection!

How about a big furry hat/cape/roadkill? Ke$ha leads the way with this bizarre combo (even for a stage outfit) to the big accessories mental asylum. A necklace made with Christmas lights paired with gold diaper pants will definitely make you stood out from the crowd (and what's up with the broken toys on stage?).

For a do-it-yourself approach, go to your local hardware store and pick a couple of yards of this beautiful gold chain for a bargain.

If the previous chain is too heavy, you can still pretend with this amazing knitted chain, to be bigger, stronger, faster than Kanye. Knit is so badass!

If you want to be bigger AND weirder, you could purchase a big necklace with a huge cockroach inside or other accessories with bugs (all found on sea of shoes), just to raise the creep factor.

However, if you prefer something more sophisticated, YSL has beautiful bold accessories.

I know which ones I'm going to pick. Hint: it's not the accessories with roaches.
