Test Driving Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Foaming Daily Cleanser!

A couple of months ago we put out a call to our lovely readers looking for guinea pigs to try out Neutrogena's newest cleanser and give us their honest thoughts on it:

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Foaming Daily Cleanser - 354ml - $10.99 - with a paraben, soap and dye-free  formula that features a unique polymer that binds surfactants together so they don't penetrate the skin eliminating the potential for irritation and resulting in an super gentle cleansing experience while still thoroughly removing excess oil, dirt and even makeup without stripping and damaging - to leave skin looking clean and healthy.

Out of the ladies we sent a cleanser to, 3 of them actually followed through and sent in a review and here is what they thought:

Sonya J. -  For the past year, I've been loyal to my Cetaphil daily cleanser. I noticed that it never got off all my makeup, so I would cleanse my face and then go in a second time with my Clarisonic to make sure my face was 100% makeup free. I've also recently noticed the ingredient list; I've been trying to become more aware of harmful ingredients added to beauty products so I can avoid them. I found out that Cetaphil has some not-so-natural ingredients in it! However, since I received the Neutrogena cleanser, I've been more drawn to using it because of the good ingredients. Using the Neutrogena cleanser, I have found that my makeup comes off so easily. Just a little squirt of cleanser onto my Clarisonic brush head is all I need. The product lathers up well and has a fresh, clean scent to it that's not overbearing. Since my skin is somewhat sensitive, I find that my face breaks out whenever I switch to using a new cleanser or moisturizer but I'm so happy to report that I haven't noticed any adverse effects with using Neutrogena's cleanser! It's definitely my favorite cleanser now and I look forward to repurchasing it in the future. I'm also excited to try more skincare products by Neutrogena now that I've been introduced to a great cleanser!

Lesley D. - Let me start by saying this is one of the most gentle daily cleansers that I have ever tried.  I honestly thought to myself "This can't be doing anything beneficial to my skin, or removing my waterproof eye makeup!", but, I was wrong!  My skin was very clean, without any irritation, and no dried-out feeling.  While gentle, it didn't disappoint when it came to a thorough clean, including all stubborn makeup removal. I was very impressed, and will continue to purchase this product, not only because I trust the Neutrogena brand, but because I also noticed it was cheaper than all of the other paraben-free facial cleansers that I've tried in the past!  Score!

Susan T. - When I first pumped out this cleanser I was surprised that it was a clear gel. I expected a moisturizing cleanser to be creamy and was concerned that it would be drying. My fears were unfounded as it foamed up into a nice, creamy lather. It has a subtle scent that is very fresh and lovely. I use it with my Clarisonic and it does a great job of cleansing and removing my sunscreen and makeup. I used it after a day spent in the sun when my skin felt tender and parched and it did not irritate or dry me out at all!  I have finally found a cleanser that works with my combination, aging and sensitive skin! It's a keeper! (I've already bought another bottle as a backup!)

Seems like we are all fans! If you don't like foaming or like a thicker cleanser then check out the newest addition:
Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Fragrance-Free Creamy Formula - 354ml - $9.99 - with a non-foaming, creamy formula that works like a lotion that cleanses effectively without leaving skin feeling dry and tight while removing 99% of oil, dirt and makeup while being gentle enough for sensitive skin.  With a hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic formula that's free of fragrances, parabens, soaps and dyes.

Both available at food, drug and mass merchandisers across Canada.

    1. At Target, there's a Neutrogena gift set for $14 that contains the cleanser, makeup removing towelettes, and a moisturizer! I'm going to have to check it out... hopefully the set contains full size products!

  3. Hi girls, I think I was one of the testers chosen for this product, and I just wanted to let you know that unfortunately I was unable to post a review because I never got the cleanser in the mail :(. I just wanted to update you guys in case there was any confusion. It looks like an awesome product, though!

  4. Oh dear...I had received one from you guys as well, and got all excited to see this post and noticed that my review I wrote up back in September (after a couple weeks of using the product) was not one of the ones you posted...

Looks like it's been sitting in my "outbox" all this time, there must have been an issue when I tried to send it and I didn't realize. Ack! I feel awful that you guys probably think I flaked out! Let me know if you'd still like me to send it over, and please accept my apology!! :(
