Flaky skin is one of the wonderful side-effects skin benefit from in the recent deep freeze and while slapping a heavier moisturizer on them may seem like the logical thing to do, you actually need to get rid of the dead flakes first so that your moisturizer will be able to do its job properly! Here are a few great choices:
SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub - 150ml - $35 - a mild exfoliating gel designed for congested skin that combines Diatomaceous Earth Microbeads - a naturally occurring, soft, chalk-like sedimentary rock with cleansing and hydrating agents to gently, but effectively exfoliate dead skin cells and promote healthy cell renewal without damaging or drying skin - along with glycerin and aloe to moisturize and sooth skin - for skin that is instantly smoother, refreshed and purified.
Available through selected distribution channels via dispensing doctors, medical-spas and high-end spas across Canada - find one near you at www.skinceuticals.com/canada.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Scrub Fix - 75ml - $12.95 - a three-in-one micro exfoliant that is packed with glycolic and salicylic acids to refine, brighten and renew and works deep into pores to cleanse, polish and reduce blemishes from the first use. The best part for me is the fruity grapefruit scent- it exfoliates and wakes you up!
Available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.
RoC Soft Smoothing Scrub - 125ml - $19 - exfoliates, cleanses and moisturizes all in one go with bentonite clay, soft surfactants and glycerin to gently remove excess sebum and impurities with gentle pink bead exfoliants - for softer, smoother and more radiant looking skin.
Available at drugstores across Canada.
No7 Total Renewal Micro-Dermabrasion Exfoliator - 75ml - $19 - with a cream formula that contains tiny aluminum oxide crystals to sweep over the surface of the skin to deeply and efficiently slough away dead cells and reveal brighter, more youthful skin.
Available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.

The Nip + Fab scrub sounds great, strangely my skin has remained quite oily over the winter where as it usually dries out, so perhaps this would help! Great post thank you :)
