This week I'm obsessed with... Fresh Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask!

During these hot summer months I hate anything heavy on my skin so have switched over to a very lightweight moisturizer which is great for keeping things light but not so effective against the drying effects of the sun, wind and copious amounts of  patio inspired alcohol! So a few times a week after a long, hot day, I slather on a mask for 10 minutes to help bring the moisture balance back to my skin -  right now I'm loving:

Fresh Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask - 100ml - $152 - A one-of-a-kind hydrating treatment made with pure honey for a unique texture that instantly melts into the skin, delivering up to six hours of supreme nourishment while improving elasticity.

Honey has an amazing ability to absorb and retain moisture and is rich in natural sugars that help to create a moisture-preserving veil over the face. This isn't honey from any old bees though but rather superior honey made from the famous Buckfast Bee, a special hybrid species selected for only the best qualities developed by Brother Adam in the early 1900s at a monastery in England.

Along with the magic honey, you'll also fine echinacea extract - to help detoxify and prevent fine lines and wrinkles; meadowfoam seed oil - which has a unique fatty acid composition that provides supreme nourishment; seabuckthorn oil - rich in moisturizing omegas and protective antioxidants; shea butter - to hydrate and nourish the skin; and vitamin E - which provides antioxidant protection against wrinkle-causing free radicals.

The mask is inspired by the original cream - Crème Ancienne - which contains such fragile ingredients that each must be poured in a particular sequence at a determined temperature - requirements that can only be met by hand. Each jar is hand-blended in a monastery because monks are an important part of the cream’s heritage. I like that historically, if a formula was not produced by a monk, it was considered witchcraft - which leaves me to wonder what that makes plastic surgeons...

Available at Sephora and sephora.ca.
