Fall in love with tinted moisturizers this spring from Clinique, Stila and Cover FX!

If you are thinking about lightening up your makeup routine for the warmer weather you should take a look at tinted moisturizers. They work best for those with pretty good skin and who prefer minimal coverage - they give you enough coverage to even out skin tone but won't cover major flaws. They are also great for all skin types, oily - combo will appreciate not having to wear an extra moisturizer and dry will appreciate the extra moisture from their foundation! Here are 3 I'm loving right now:

Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 - 30ml - $30 - in 6 shades for the fairest to medium/deep complexions - a super hydrating, lightweight gel-cream that offers just enough coverage to create an even, flawless complexion.  The smooth texture blends evenly and effortlessly, leaving skin feeling cool, refreshed and completely hydrated.  It delivers all day colour, provides an immediate boost of moisturization and strengthens skin's moisture barrier, bringing dry and delicate skin back into a healthy balance. Appropriate for all skin types and provides a hint of skin-perfecting colour with just enough coverage to make the appearance of imperfections disappear, providing a naturally pretty look. 100% fragrance and oil free.

I'm happy that the lightest colour works for me as I really like the way this one feels on my skin.  It blends really nicely and looks totally natural.

Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer - 50ml - $44 - in 10 shades: fair, bare, light, tone, medium, dark, tan, warm, deep, bronze - effortlessly evens out skin's texture and camouflages imperfections with weightless coverage.  Enriched with vitamins A & E as well as skin enhancing ingredients such as ginger root extract, gingko biloba leaf extract and chamomile to eliminate redness, soothe the skin and improve elasticity. Micro-fine light diffusing pigments help fade fine lines and instantly impart a healthy radiance to skin. To top it all off, it's oil free and water resistant! Available at selected Shoppers Drug Beauty Boutiques, Murale and Sephora.

The shade range is great, I can actually wear either of the 2 lightest colours and I guess because it is water resistant, I find that it lasts longer than I'm used to tinted moisturizers lasting and feels very comfortable all day! I was a little worried by the talk of light diffusing pigments and had visions of another Revlon PhotoReady debacle but it's all good, no weird shimmer or sparkle!

Cover FX Skin Tint FX Treatment & Tinted Moisturizer - 30ml  - $39 - in 6 shades: C light or deep, E light or deep, M light or deep - tint and brighten dull skin with pearlized minerals - contains: Melanin-Mimic Technology that mimics natural melanin concentration and type for a natural sunkissed radiance; Dermaveil-Brite Built-In Primer to smooth fine lines and pores; LineFill Technology - hyaluronic spheres that provide skin hydration and firmness; and an SPF 30 for broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Available at selected Shoppers Drug Mart stores,The Bay, Sephora and Murale.

This one is meant to add a bit of colour and give you a sunkissed look.  My only issue with that is you have to be more careful with your blending when colour shows so that you don't see any of those dreaded telltale lines! It really does have a lot of moisture to it so it's a great choice if you tend to feel dry!
