A trip to the Vichy Skin Health Centre, and my dermatophobia is complete!

Do you actually know what your skin type is? I mean you might think you know what it is or when you're buying products maybe you guess but wouldn't it be great to have a pro tell you what it really is?! If you're in Toronto finding out is as easy as a trip to Vichy Skin Health Centre at the Toronto Eaton Centre - there you will receive a personalized skin diagnosis and skin analysis which will tell you exactly where you skin is at now and what you can do to improve upon it! As well as offering a skincare prescription that will recommend all the products needed to help achieve complexion perfection!
You know I'm game for anything so I made a visit to the Vichy Skin Health Centre yesterday and had one of the pros have a good hard look at my skin. I have to admit, I was a bit scared at what he might tell me! I mean I think I take good care of my skin but I also think I'm going to win the lottery every week so what do I know?!

First he used a Hydrometer to check the hydration levels in my skin and determined I was slightly dehydrated. This was actually good news as the last time I had this done at a different counter the results had my hydration level as a hair short of mummified.

Then he used a microscopic lens -  which gave us a close up look at my skin and I have to say, it was horrifying - every clogged pore, freckle and broken vein was right up there for my viewing pleasure! Even worse, it shows every little hair which you wouldn't normally see - it made me want to go home and shave! Really, it was like watching a car accident, you know you shouldn't look but you just can't help yourself!

Then they take a UV photo - which shows the amount of sun damage which has accumulated under the skin - this is actually pretty cool but if you are/were a sun worshiper, you could be in for a big shock! And before you ask, no the photo isn't me just some random victim volunteer - where you see the darker areas on her skin in the second picture - around her mouth, cheeks and chin is where she has accumulated sun damage.

Lastly to appease some of the proceeding shock and horror, he gave me advice and tips on how to improve my skin - I should exfoliate more, continue to wear my sunscreen and try ProEVEN to correct any dark spots and skintone. Better yet, I got a $5 coupon off a $25 Vichy purchase!

Curious to try it for yourself? The Vichy Skin Health Centre will be in the Eaton Centre until Sunday - from 10am to 9pm and it's free! Aren't in Toronto? You can still go into any location that carries Vichy and they will be able to use the Hydrometer and microscopic lens on you and recommend the best Vichy products for you!
