Mascara Monday - Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Paillettes Plum Sparkles

Part of the Givenchy Fall/Winter collection Phenomen'Eyes Paillettes features fine pearlescent particles meant to dress the lashes up in shimmering radiance. After hearing that description, I knew it had to be mine! So I went with the plum colour figuring it would bring out the blue in my eyes.
It can be applied directly to the lashes
or as a top coat over your usual mascara.
 
I must admit I thought it would have more in the way of obvious sparkle but it's more like a discrete shimmer. I purposely didn't comb it after applying it as a top coat over my mascara but I think I should have just a bit to make it less clumpy - I was just afraid of brushing out any sparkle. On it's own though, I like the look a lot, I think the spiky look is really cool and it gives great length and definition! 
 
What do you think are you seeing the shimmer or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

    I don't see any shimmer! :( But it could be the pictures. Maybe in real life the shimmer catches on the light?

    Hm, I'm sorry to say I think it's wishful thinking.
    Although, as Elaine said, it might be better in real life.
