Fragrant Friday - The Body Shop White Musk Libertine

Am I the only one who remembers every girl in junior high wearing The Body Shop White Musk? It's one of those fragrances that when I smell it, I'm transported back to a time when my biggest problems in life were passing math and hating my freckles - sure beats mortgages and hating my wrinkles! So when I heard that The Body Shop had released a new take on my old favourite I was curious to see if it would smell anything like the original and if I would like it as much.

The Body Shop White Musk Libertine contains 65% distinct rare musks in its top, heart and base notes that react differently with the contrasting ingredients of Sweet Turkish delight, Chantilly Cream and Orchid to unveil a multifaceted ever evolving fragrance.

So the answers to my questions are yes, I can smell the original in there but the extra notes make it more sophisticated and a little less "junior high". It's less nostalgic but I guess you can't be 13 forever!

Available as: 60ml EDT - $26; 30ml EDT - $17.50; 30ml EDP - $24; 100ml Body Mist - $15; 250ml Body Lotion - $16.50; 250ml Body Wash - $15.

  1. I quite like this. I bought the EDP for a Christmas present, though I'm not quite sure which family member to give it to yet!

  2. See, we didn't have the Body Shop in my small town where I grew up, so to me, the all-time junior high scents are CK One and Love's Baby Soft.
