Nude and shiny pouts with Maybelline, Avon, Hourglass and mark. - with swatches!

I'm a big fan of a smoky eye for fall and even though I know it's a trend this season, I just can't bring myself to sport a smoky eye with a bold lip - it's a good look on a model, not on me! A shiny nude lip is what you'll see with my smoky eye with and here are a few lips that I will be wearing this season:

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Gloss - $9.99 - super shine from the first ever wax-free formula for pure saturated colour that is easy to apply without ever feeling sticky or tacky. In 12 shades: Almond Crush, Glisten Up Pink, Captivating Coral, One Shine Day, Iced Chocolate, Luminous Latte, Gleaming Grenadine, Mocha-Mazing, Mirrored Mauve, Plum Lustre, Electric Shock and Raspberry Reflections.
Luminous Latte
Avon Glazewear VitaLuscious Lip Gloss - $7.99 - a new Glazewear formula with nourishing vitamins and natural ingredients that offer luscious shine and a hint of colour perfect for when you want your eyes to make the statement! In 10 shades: Renewing Rose, Vita-Pink, Wine Wellness, Peach-Fection, Nude-Tritious, Pink Boost, Rose Flush, Reviving Red, Vital Copper and Chocoloxidant.
Pink Boost
Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss - $33 - with a paraben-free formulation that delivers high-shine and rich pigment without feathering and contains moisturizing active and Vitamin E to provide intense hydration to keep lips from cracking or chapping
Nectar
mark. Gloss On Lip Gloss - $10 - part of the summer Hamptons collection, this might be a bit of a tease because it's not technically available anymore so bug your Avon lady to see if she has any left over stock -  but I had to show you the Cabana shade because it is the most perfect shimmery nude peach that is my go-to shade to match with a smoky eye!
Cabana

And if you're looking for a way to keep your gloss from migrating outside of your lips and into the little lines around your mouth check out No Bleeding Lips - $14.99 - although on further reflection the name is kinda gross, the results are great! You just use it to draw an invisible line around the outside of your lipline which creates a barrier against product bleed and feathering that lasts up to 5 hours. Also great for those dark coloured lipsticks!

Available now exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.

  1. With the smokey eye/bold lip trend-- something with a taupe gray tone works better for me. I find MAC Copperplate more subtle, but it still works with the darker lipstick shades.
