I finally decided on a Christmas gift for my mother in law - White Diamonds Elizabeth Taylor which is more of a classic than I knew - it's actually been around for 20 years! One of the first and certainly the most successful of celebrity fragrances - it's just one of those scents that you either love or hate - but never forget!

With top notes of Amazon Lily, Italian Neroli and Crisp Aldehyde; heart notes of Egyptian Tuberose, Narcisse, Turkish Rose, Jasmine and Italian Orris; and base notes of Amber, Oakmoss, Patchouli and Sandalwood.

And because I take everything Liz says to heart, I decided to pick up Taylor's famous 33-carat diamond ring, a little gift she received from Richard Burton now renamed The Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, at the recent Christie's auction. You'll be happy to know I got it for a steal - a mere $8.8 million!
