The Beauty Spotlight Team Makeup Bag Spotlight - Beauty Crazed (me)!

I hope you've been enjoying The Beauty Spotlight makeup bag feature that we have been taking turns doing every other week - and this time you get me! When I told my husband it was my turn and I needed him to take some pictures for me, he laughed and said "You don't even have a makeup bag, you have a makeup room!" The second part is obviously not correct because you can see my pretty bag above. I think he's thinking about people that actually have all of the makeup they own in a bag (ridiculous, I know) - and while it is true I have a room full of makeup, I do have a bag where I keep: products that I use everyday, products that I'm testing, products that I tested and forgot to take out of the bag, products I plan on testing but haven't gotten around to yet, and random crap that I'm not sure why it's in there but I'm sure I had a good reason at the time.

The bag itself is deceptively roomy and I love that it has the little handle which makes it easy to carry it around the house - when I was taking everything out for pictures you would have sworn it was a clown car though, the stuff just kept coming and coming - and FYI any of the product names that are clickable will take you to my review, swatches or info about the product - enjoy!
Everyday Basics - even a makeup junkie has tried and true staples - or at least staples of the moment - these are products I use everyday:
Make Up For Ever High Definition Primer  - I flip flop back and forth between primers but this one remains one of my faves!
Dior Capture Totale Serum de Teint in 010 Ivory - it was a long drawn out process picking this foundation, I hope it lasts a really long time!
Dalton Cosmetics Mirage Blending Powder - while I love MUFE powder, it can have that whitish cast if you don't blend it right - this one does the same thing but is a nude colour so no whiteness ever!
Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil in DEA -ever since my most beloved concealer was discontinued I have been on the hunt for a new perfect concealer. Since I haven't been able to find just one to do everything my old one did, I've been using two - a stick one to cover redness and blemishes

Stila Brighten & Correct Concealer in Fair  - and a liquid one to cover darkness and under eye circles.
Skindinavia 10 Years Younger Makeup Finish - I don't know that it makes me look 10 years younger but it is a nice makeup setter!
Korres Antiageing Eye Primer - this just happens to be the one I am testing right now, stay tuned for a primer roundup coming soon!
Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener - perfect to help hide those sleepless nights!
Benefit D'Finer D'Liner - this is a reverse lipliner that you use around the outside of your lips to keep colour from bleeding - essential with gloss!
Smashbox Brow Tech in Auburn - this is the only brown colour I've ever found in the perfect shade for my hair - I'm not pleased that they've changed this product and really happy I bought a backup before they did!
MAC Eye Shadow in Taupeless - I use this as either a base coat for whatever shadow I'm wearing or an allover wash of colour to perk my eyes up a bit.
Estee Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow in Lemon Square - I use this as a highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes for an awake look even when I'm not awake (most of the time).

Eyeshadows - judging from this, I like greens and neutrals with a pop of blue here and there...
Pout Spoilt Senseless Palette - I love the neutral shadows in this palette and this seems to contain the only blush in my bag which isn't entirely true - during the summer I took to using a bit of lipstick to double as a cream blush!
Quo Eye Shadow Trio in Oceana - the perfect summer blues: sea, sky and storm!
Too Faced Eye Shadow Duo in G.I. Jane - one side yellowy gold the other khaki - awesome for a softer smoky eye.
Avon Mega Impact Eyeshadow in Khaki Crazed -I didn't realize how similar this is to the Too Faced duo until I saw them side by side - I must like khaki since I keep buying similar ones!

Liners & Mascaras - I haven't been wearing much mascara lately since I got my extensions, otherwise I suspect I would have more than 3 mascaras in my bag!
Smashbox Liner in Love - bronze with a bit of sparkle
Givenchy Magic Khol in Coffee - dark brown
Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in Blue Jean - dark blue
Yves Saint Laurent Dessin du Regard in Ultramarine - more dark blue
Lise Watier Feline HD Mascara - you can see from how worn the tube is that this is a favourite that I keep going back to
Annabelle Le Big Show Mascara - my newest with a  review coming Monday
Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes - nice volume, will become my new regular when Lise Watier bites the dust, unless I find something I like better before then...

Lipglosses - I really would have guessed that I would have way more than 3 glosses in here but I checked and most of my regulars are in my purse! I did notice an interesting trend with most of my lip products though, can you spot it?
NARS Lip Gloss in Wonder  - I've been wearing this all summer and loving it!
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Lip Nectar in Honey Bunch  - another summer fave!
Smashbox Lip Gloss in Heat - this is one of those, "I have no idea how it got in here items", I forgot I even owned this or when or where I got it - it's a beautiful coral though so I'm glad I've rediscovered it!

Lipsticks
Dior Addict Lipstick in Tango and Lise Watier Duo Glam Rouge Infini in Sunset Glam
GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Shocking Coral and Yves Saint Laurent Volpte Sheer Candy in Succulent Pomegranate
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Liberte and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Ravissante

If your answer to what is similar about all my lip products was they are all shades of peach, coral and orange, you would be correct! I swear I have no idea how this happened!

And I will admit that there were 2 products in the bag that I didn't take a picture of because it was too embarrassing - a Revlon Colorstay concealer, which is long discontinued and so far, I have found it impossible to replace - I have been hanging on to this sad looking tube hoping it will magically refill itself - and a Stila lipstick in Lisa from back when they used to come in cardboard tubes - it's a pretty colour but the tube looks disgusting - it got wet at one point which was really the downside of that cardboard packaging - it's pink though and it has my name so I haven't been able to throw it out!

If nothing else this post was a good excuse to clean out my bag, lose the dust bunnies and discover some items that I forgot I had - I will now be clearing out the corals and blues to make way for my fall colours and isn't it lucky that I'll be able to fit lots of them in here!

  3. Wow, that's a jam-packed bag. Initially, I thought the bag held only what was in the first picture, and I was very impressed by your streamlining. And then I started to scroll and thought to myself, "That's more like it!"

  10. You have a lovely lot of items there. I can't wait till the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet's come out here. I'll be keen to know your thoughts on the Korres Antiageing Eye Primer, as I had been thinking about buying that :)

  11. I have the same makeup bag! Sadly, mine is a bit makeup-y and I tried to find a replacement, and alas, they do not sell it any more
