Make Up For Ever - where have you been all my life?!

This may come as a shock to my husband, but I'm in love with another man, well two actually.  My new men are soft and silky, they never weigh me down and one loves to be squeezed.  Ok, fine, it's not really men, it's my new High Definition Primer and Powder - holy crap, they are amazing!

You may recall that I made a major Sephora holiday catalogue haul here.  And one of the things I ordered was the Best of Make Up For Ever set.  From this set I have discovered 2 must haves but I'll go through the other stuff first and make you wait.

Aqua Eyes in mat black - this is a full sized eyeliner.  When I swiped it on my hand the application was nice and smooth and when I tried to smudge it after a few seconds, it wasn't going anywhere.  But the area around my eyes tends to be on the oily side so I have my own personal built in waterproof eye makeup remover and this pencil was no match for it.  Not the pencil's fault, I have this issue with all eyeliners.  I expect people without this problem will be very pleased with the aqua eyes.

Sens'Eyes Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser - meh.  I found this sample sized product kind of confusing as it didn't come with any instructions.  It's a thickish blue milk and I couldn't decide if I was supposed to put it on a cotton pad and wipe it off or put it directly on my eyes and wash it off.  I tried it both ways and wasn't impressed with either.  I have better removers then this, I'll pass.

Smoky Lash Mascara - this is a full sized mascara.  I haven't tried this one yet as I don't like to open up a new mascara until I'm ready to start using it to cut down on the air/bacteria factor.  I will let you know if it's anything to get excited about at a later date.

And now for the winners:

HD Microprofecting Primer - This sample sized primer is amazing, it does everything I would expect a primer to do.  It's extremely lightweight and it doesn't feel like it's just sitting on my skin when I have it on.  It's oil free, doesn't smell and wait, here's the best part - actually kept my face shine free until well after lunch!  This is unprecedented!  I did have to give my face a powder around 2, but still that is hours later then I used to have to touch up.  Now I don't know if it's the primer by itself doing this or a combo of it and:

HD Microfinish Powder - This is actually a full sized product although I thought it was a small version when I took it out of the package.  I wasn't sure that I was going to like it - it's so white!  I was expecting Caspar the friendly ghost-like results.  Was I ever in for a surprise when I rubbed a bit on my hand - it feels like silk on your skin!  When they say it completely evens out your complexion they aren't kidding, I don't have enough good things to say about this powder - put it on your must try list, it is that good!  My only issue with it is that I tend to stick a finger into my powder and rub it directly on a blemish or red mark for extra coverage.  When I do it with this it does leave a whitish mark so I have to use my regular powder for that - but other then that, this powder is a total winner!

I have no idea why I have never tried the Make Up For Ever line before but I will definitely be trying more of their products - I highly recommend you pick up the Best Of set if you are also new to the line - it gives you a great intro to some really super products and at $55 Canadian ($49 US) it's a great deal!
