Christelle has shown you the beautiful clothes from the Chanel 2010 Spring Summer Haute-Couture Show and now here's the scoop on the makeup. Peter Philips did another beautiful job with three key phrases from Karl for inspiration: neon baroque, chemical pastels and liquid silver. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean either. For the haute couture collection, Peter wanted the makeup to be classical so the attention would be focused on the clothes. He looked for shades which would best fit the water-colour and acid-like tones of the fabric and decided to place the focus on the lips.
For the lips, Peter used a new shade of Rouge Allure from the Summer 2010 Collection - Génial - which is a coral-orange shade. The lips were outlined with Le Crayon à Lèvres in Pink Sugar.
For the eyes he applied the new Ombres Contraste Duo - Gris-Subtil on the eyelids, composed
of two shades of grey, one of which silver sparkle’s reflected the light. At the roots of the eyelashes a thin stroke of Crayon Khôl - Graphite. On the eyelashes, a touch of Mascara Inimitable – Black.
For the cheeks he used a light touch of Les Tissages de Chanel - Tweed Corail which brought a delicate dash of colour to the cheekbones.
Finally, to create the mercury-like effect on the nails, Peter used Le Vernis in Silver launched a limited edition polish from Spring 2007.

ReplyDeleteDoes any one knows when/where will the Chanel “Genial” lipstick is going to be sold in Canada? Because I have been searching on the Chanel canadian website and the summer collection is not even featured (god knows why because we are already in may…). Any way, I’d appreciate any info, I am dying to buy this lipstick.
