Chanel Spring 2010 - Les Impressions de Chanel

Spring 2010 is looking fresh, soft and pretty at Chanel.  As seen in the Ready to Wear Spring/Summer runway show, Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup described his inspiration for the show's makeup "I focused the make-up on Nature: Chic beige tones, very pure, fresh and optimistic with a slight touch of rebellion: the tattoos! "(you can see the tattoos here)  The makeup all came from the Chanel Spring 2010 collection -  Les Impressions de Chanel  - Philips describes it as a casual makeup, flattering, light, young, gay and easy to apply.  Music to my ears.  At the same time we get rid of our heavy winter clothing we can ditch the heavy winter makeup and let our faces breath a bit!  Well maybe not, it launches January 18, 2010 when it will still be plenty cold!  Here are my faves from the collection, I am going mostly with Chanel's colour descriptions below, I haven't actually seen any of the products for myself.  If Chanel would like to send a great big box of spring makeup to my house, I am totally fine with that... can't blame a girl for trying!

Empreinte de Chanel - Limited Edition - For a subtle glow with shades of gold and apricot.  Suitable for all skin tones.  Can be used to highlight or all over for a radiant complexion $73

Particulière looks and sounds like it will be the new hot thing in nail polish.  I've now heard it described as a shimmery mauve grey, mink, fawn and even grey-brown-olive green. Philips describes it as sophisticated taupe with a hint of grey, very chic.  Which one is correct? I guess we'll have to wait and see, provided we can even get our hands on a bottle of it, it's sure to be a quick seller. $26

Levres Scintillantes - Two shades (light peach or pale pink) to apply on their own or over lipstick $31

Les 4 Ombres - Kaska Beige - warm yet natural shades of browns, deep purples and beiges with a touch of gold and olive green $61

Less is more in Spring 2010 find it at the Chanel counter closest to you January 18th.
